We have a risk/reward balance to address concerning the use of any drug, but you don't see me on a high horse telling you what you may & may not put in your body.

Let's recap some history in layman's terms:
prohibition = dirty drugs & intoxicants
legalization = greater appreciation for freedom of speech & expression, fewer overdose deaths
marijuana overdose = by & large impossible unless you smoke enough to die vomiting

You want an opinion instead of science? I wanted a serious discussion at square one, then you decided I was a plot device in your narrative.
I've seen marijuana add years to a friend's life. I've seen marijuana help a friend recover from heroin. I've seen marijuana pay rent somewhere beautiful. I've seen marijuana giving me the worst panic attack of my life, but from that experience I gained perspective.
We're not likely to find the perfect drug for everyone but at least some drugs help some of us.

Actually I just stated that I don't see any scientific backing here.
TL;DR this is an awful thread about a book review concerning Marijuana prohibition. I agree it should be locked.
OP's decision to view a minority as psychologically inferior is very telling. I've seen & heard this all before, the context is not important unless you have a violent crime to "correlate" with it. Even then, smoking a joint is not a violent act.
