Actually Hawaii is a rather strategic spot for dominating the Pacific. Japan, China, and ...California, would probably end up fighting over it.
I have Polynesian ancestry (my birth father was Hawaiian) but not Cherokee. I just used the Cherokee Rose and Hibiscus flowers as references to the state flowers of Georgia and Hawaii (I'm from Georgia).

You didn’t get the joke! Wolfman Jack made that comment to a teen-aged girl that called in a song request to his show almost 50 years ago.
Then again, let a DJ make a crack like that nowadays (unless he Howard Stern), and station management will yank them off the air in a nanosecond and have them jailed for being a pimp.
