I'm neither jew nor muslim and I live far away from the middle-east.
In principle I couldn't care less.

But I do feel morally obliged to say the truth, and the truth is: The jews was granted land that wasn't their's in the first place. Same with the Arabs, originally the entire area was under Western control. When the Israelis and Arabs got their own land, the Israelis attacked the arabs and continue to build settlements.

It's a never-ending conflict because of this attitude and provocation. Israel should stop building new (illegal) settlements in other people's countries without their permission.

Likewise the Palestinians should stop attacking Israel.

If Palestine continues to attack Israel (as attackers, not defenders), Israel has every right to totally destroy Palestine. Then, and ONLY THEN can one say Israel has the right to annex Palestine.

We in the West (EU/U.S) spend billions of dollars/euro on the military because of peace-keeping missions in the Middle East, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict if the root of all these conflicts.

By your standards, every country has the right to kick the original inhabitants out of every nation, if they can win a war.

Say Russia attacked the U.S. and won. Then, by your own "moral", Russia has every "right" to kick the Americans out of the U.S. or enslave them or do whatever they want.

In the case of the US and Indian Reservations, we granted them a portion of their own land, but fed them alcohol. When you think about it, that's an even crueler solution. As it turns out, DNA tests have shown that Native Americans lack an enzyme to properly metabolize alcohol. I believe it evolved out because the Native Americans (First Nations) people were such a spiritual people that they didn't need alcohol to reach the pseudo-spiritual state sometimes achieved by poets, writers, composers. Alcohol was once called 'spirits'

What we did to them was worse than taking their land. But, it's true. And instead of fighting against what's true, I believe in supporting the Israelis equally in what is true. Not holding them to a set of standards no one else in the world adheres to.

In the old days, one could edit one's post about 15 minutes after posting. That's been extended a bit, to maybe an hour or more. It varies.

So what you're saying is that Might is Right, and if any bully can beat up the weak kid in the the school, the bully should be rewarded instead of punished?

You do realize that the US exists as it is today by displacement of the original inhabitants? Shouldn't the descendants of the original inhabitants be suitably reparated and remunerated for their lost land? And what was deliberately done to the bison in order to destroy their livelihood was unspeakable.

Dude, it's been happening since the beginning of time! What? You think I wrote the rules on warfare? I just read the books. The only time a people get allowed to stay is if there's not a need for a place to live. In which case, they become slaves and pay a portion to the new overlords for the privilege of a place to lay their heads. If Russia defeated us, guess what? I'd be defeated. Are you high on something? I just don't get how 2+2 doesn't equal 4 with you... Do you think people fight a war and then say, "welp, you can stay. We were just looking for some sport?"

I agree that is the case.
I do not agree that it SHOULD be the case, which you firmly believe it should be.

It just LOOKS different today. There's not feudal systems, per se. But there's still taxes, enlisted military service (for those with slim prospects), once there were drafts (although done away with in the US).

Persephone29 has no morality. In-fact she believes that Might is Right. Yes, it is currently the case. But as other people -like myself - believe that Right SHOULD BE an entirely different thing from brute raw strength, Persephone29 believes that it is a good thing that weak people are subject to the strong people.

I'm just a realist. It has nothing to do with belief. It happens. What do you propose? The UN go in and overthrow Israel, who they helped get the land in the first place after the Holocaust? It's survival of the fittest. Everyone is content to support evolution and Darwin, when they are fighting to disprove creation/religion. But let it play out in real time and they all lose their minds.

Persephone29, you will look differently at things if your country was invaded and lost the war.

Then I doubt you will think it is good thing that you become a slave. Then you would start believing that maybe it would have been better if right doesn't neccessarily equal to might.

I don't think she believes that at all, and you're launching a personal attack on her with little evidence to go on that your accusations are accurate. Please post within the rules. Argue points, not the person.
