It's sexist & there's a difference between calling out a white woman for having a racist pov (call her a racist then) and a white middle aged woman for voicing an opinion on service in a restaurant/cafe/shop.

When she's having a meltdown, I don't like seeing those videos either cos you don't know who's autistic or has mental health conditions etc and it's not right to mock that. I've had meltdowns in public before over things NTs would see as 'trivial'. They couldn't be helped & weren't my fault.

It gives people an excuse to be sexist & ageist.

Ironically my dad is more of a complainer than my mum. My mum is the right age & gender to be a Karen.

Has it ever been more obvious that much racism comes from the top of society, rather from the bottom? We are constantly having our buttons pushed by memes and videos which are probably staged, so we mistrust and snarl at each other.

In the old youtube we just called them crazy women having PMS.

Blaming female bad behavior on PMS is sexist. But yes guys used to use that trope all the time, and maybe still do.

It doesn't help when groups set out to seperate themselves as "special" based on their race (for example BLM), setting out as though it is only their "race" which is affected. Then, when a similar movement starts which addresses the same issue, but pointing out how all races sufffer this same problem and aims to bring attention to the issue and not the race of the victim (All lives matter), this non-race based movement is considered "racist", while the race-based movement isn't.

Then again, if politicians can make certain groups feel "dependant" on them by making out that the other side doesn't care about them (regardless of facts), it helps bolster their support numbers, and by setting people of different races against each other, allows them to do the bare minimum (or less) for those "supporters", as they have arranged things such that no matter what the "other side" does, it will never be enough, even should the "other side" be doing more than theirs did.

There was a reason I mentioned Emit Till (it's no accident). Carolyn Bryant used her position as a white woman to make up a lie which she knew would get a 14 year old boy lynched by her fellow racist townfolk.

The black community own the term "Karen" as it pertained to such white women who play the damsel in distress (like the fictional female damsels in D.W. Griffith's "Birth of a Nation") in order to punish black men. The advent of the mobile camera mean't both racist women and men are being caught on film weaponising their privilege and getting duly punished. It is very very satisfying but is probably only the tip of the iceberg.

However, the popularity of the "Karens" has mean't the concept has been appropriated by whites as well so now it pertains to any woman (white or black) where the recipient of their rants can also be of any race.

The women who feature in the broader "karen" memes are probably just ones who feel entitled to busy bodies and many are probably suffering PMS or mental health issues (so they probably need help).
