Trump did more or less use subtext insist on violence from all sides. This thread puts political alignments more at issue & points towards a variety of scare tactics used to rationalize hate towards basically anyone who opposes said hate. Telling the truth about the situation & the people involved in it gets us tarred & feathered as bullies when the reality is that we've seen an endless, exponential spike in alt-right terrorism, for lack of a better word.
The kind of crime people have come to ignore now is horrifying, because it was state sanctioned it only got worse.
I'm not saying sh***y ideas automatically make any of them bad people, I'm more confident in people than that truthfully. I am however perfectly free to call out the sicko BS that gets glossed over when people delve into semantics like this.

Probably a good thing, I hate social media drama at the best of times.
And like is often said on Reddit, yes [Wrong Planet] is social media.Well these days it's the alt-right insisting that anyone who judges their statements & actions must be one of the evil communist sheeple plotting to steal their guns & censor their BS. They believe tolerance is an all or nothing proposition which should include neonazis as far as I can tell. They're throwing around slurs regarding anyone with any liberal inclination & doing so without getting banned strictly because political morality is indeed dead in America.
There's a guy here who tried to have me banned just by putting words in my mouth. Their game of devil's advocate is a matter of bending the rhetoric so far out of shape as to encourage holocaust denial. If nazi is nothing more than a dirty word we should be ashamed of using in historical context, IMO that's a mockery of a genocide.
This is the second thread that has wandered into moderation of “hate speech”. Reminder there is a thread for that.

I don't really think you were reading for comprehension there.
The alt-right rhetoric on this subject is very careful to only border on holocaust denial vis-a-vis encouraging those sentiments without actually mentioning it. They love wordplay these days. Dangerous racially motivated fascists are not a myth & there are way more than just nazis out there. Look into Narenda Modi or Xi Jinping.
I think locking that thread encourages people to bury their heads in the sand & doom themselves to repeat history.
