Hate crimes don't exist; if one acts upon criminal intent and commits a crime from feelings of contempt for the victim - naturally all crimes are hate crimes. 21%  21%  [ 4 ]

Ironypony surely you didn't realize by now that hate crime charges apply only to white people?

You don't really believe that do you?

If a black man attacks someone of Asian ancestry shouting about corona virus you can guarantee he'll be charged with a hate crime if he's apprehended.

Oh I am not sure, I always paid more attention to the act of the crimes in news stories, rather than racial biases. So a blackman would have 'the book' thrown at him on hate crimes, if the victim was Asian then?

I guess you're right. That being said, a part of me always thought that the said legislation is highly exclusive in its overall build and legal indicia.

I have never heard of a non-white person being charged with a hate crime. It is a categorized offence.

This presents a incongruity in application of law . As have been in my life ,subject to obvious bias behaviour from a group of black nursing personnel during a stay at the local hospital , obviously the only staff on duty was all black that night and morning . And appeared to be following the intentions of a senior male black charge nurse that night .

Am quite there should be attention draw to these incidents as well . But societal bias is in such a mismatch of reality
It is hard to conceive this as being a reality but , you would of have to had been there in those circumstances .
And no I am not bias , have had some black friends over the period of my life that , I would not trade for anything.
And I miss them dearly .

Only when it comes to racism and mostly due to white privilege.

But anyone of any race could be homophobic or commit a crime against someone for their religious beliefs etc.

It’s just that white people tend to be the most racist when it comes to racially motivated hate crimes.

Are you sure white people are the worst when it comes to racially motivated hate crimes? I mean Rwanda was racially motivated and a lot of people were murdered there by non-whites. I didn't think that one race was worse than any other for it.

Yes.

White people have been doing this s**t for like a thousand years+ - racial hierarchy & white supremacy is pretty much an invention of the Catholic Church. White people have murdered and enslaved non whites all over the world for probably more than 1,000 years.. so some short lived war in Rwanda isn’t even remotely comparable.

And wasn’t Rwanda different ethnic groups of the same race?

Oh okay. The Rwanda genocide was racially motivated because the one group they targeted looked different racially, and had different characteristics, and they were againt that group of people because of it.
