True about the Aryans not establishing the Indus Valley civilization.

But a branch of Indo-European people (the Aryans) did migrate to the Indian Subcontinent long before the time of Moses.

Present-day Europeans are not usually the descendants of Canaanites, or "Hebrews."

My mother's side is all Ashkenazi Jews.

Israeli model Yael Shelbia illustrates the point I am making.

Her ancestors were from Tunisia. Within one generation her genetic profile has changed so she now looks northern European. Notice she doesn't resemble her Tunisian/arabic heritage. Imagine how transformed Jewish populations living in Russia would be after 1500 years.

She actually does look sort of Mediterranean.

Moses is accepted to have lived in the period of 1391–1271 BCE;

The Indus Valley collapsed at this exact corresponding time. Climate change at this time resulted in the collapse of prevailing civilisations
Old kingdom Egypt
Malta
Minoans of Crete
Indus Valley
Elam
Sumer

Semi-pastoral IE peoples in central Asia migrated and formed the following populations
Anatolia - Hittites
Balkans - Mycenaean Greeks
China - Tocharians
Western Asia - Persians and Medes
India - Aryans

But what's relevant to this thread is during this time nomadic semetic tribes destroyed Sumer and one of these groups included the ancestor of Abraham who we know lived in what is Sumer. He was compelled to migrate during these tumultuous times to migrate westward with his family and arrived in what is today Arabia and the Levant. His descendants include all the modern Semitic tribes

Possibly but not middle eastern. If you look at Jewish Americans like Nikki Glaser or Amy Shumer they no longer resemble their ancestors at all.

I agree. The people of the Levant probably are closely related---whether Jew or Arab.

But it would be interesting to see whether Jews in the diaspora hadn’t been mixing it up with their brothers and sisters all along and never knew it.

Is there any objective evidence in favour of it whatsoever?

Supposedly a few Europeans share DNA with Semitic people and possibly even the Jews, indicating that Israelites intermixed with their captors and their descendants spread northward mixing with Europeans. I believe it’s a plausible hypothesis, though I don’t share the idea that it means what Christian Identity adherents think it means.

White Gentile Europeans (and presumably all White Americans) have their origin in "northern Israel"?

How could this possible be anything other than...stupidity wrapped in stupidity wrapped into even more stupidity?

It is like saying that I, Naturalplastic, am the ancestor of the entire nation of Japan. Japan is a big population country, and it already long existed before I was born, and continues to exist contemporary with me.

The Jewish kingdoms of Israel and Judea came into being around 1000 BC. About 2000 years after civilization had begun in Egypt and in Mesopotamia.

For your theory to be true Europe would have to have been empty of people at that time. Stonehenge was already 15 centuries old when Joshua arrived in the Promised Land. Long story short: Etruscan, Greek, and Roman civilizations were emerging in southern europe at about the same time as the history of the Biblical Hebrews unfolded.

Virtually all modern European languages are Indo-European. No European language is Semitic. So there is no linguistic connection to the ancient Hebrews with any modern European nationality.

Just the first few problems that come to me off the top of my head.

How do you envision what you're saying? you're claiming that people from the northern half of a flyspeck sized country (northern Israel), were the ancestors of a race who occupy an entire continent (White Europeans)...a race that already occupied that continent at the same time in history as northern Israel existed.

Maltese is a Semitic language.

Your point?

No point, just stating a one exception. I agree with your post.

So no, you're not aware of any objective evidence supporting this notion. If DNA supported the notion studies would likely exist documenting this fact.

The ideas that this notion are based in are the result of ignorant and recently converted European Christians hoping to tie themselves to the history of the Levant because their own wasn't recorded. Those ideas were resurrected by white supremacists in the 1800s looking for religious justification for their notions that they were inherently YHWH's chosen because colonialism (the successes these peoples had conquering others was considered as evidence that God was on their side).

No evidence can be presented to support these positions (British Israelism, Frankish Israelism, Nordic Israelism, etc) because none exists because they're just bible fan-fiction invented to justify terrible actions.

Are you on drugs? Did you look at that picture and hallucinate that she looked like Lindsay Lohan?
Like most Arabs and Jews (though not necessarily Berbers) of North Africa she DOES look "Middle Eastern".
And even if she did look north european (or anything non middle eastern), which she doesnt, she is just one specimen, and wouldnt prove anything.

American, and Israeli Jews of the Ashkenazi sect often DO have coloration similar to that of Lindsay Lohan (Like Kathy Griffith). So they do have north european DNA. But like Kathy Griffith they retain a very different facial bone structure from their Gentile neighbors, that is similar to Middle Eastern folks.

Quote:
All of the Ashkenazi Jews alive today can trace their roots to a group of about 330 people who lived 600 to 800 years ago...to a founding group in the Middle Ages....About 80% of modern Jews have Ashkenazi ancestry, according to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Despite their close ties with Europe, no more than half of their DNA comes from ancient Europeans...

The rest of the Ashkenazi genome comes from the Middle East, the researchers reported. This founding group “fused” with the European founding group to create a population of 250 to 420 individuals. These people lived 25 to 32 generations ago, and their descendants grew at a rate of 16% to 53% per generation, the researchers calculated.

I always wondered why, say, Dutch Jews and Moldovan Jews score closer together ancestrally than they do to their respective Dutch or Moldovan gentile counterparts. A DNA test is more likely to tell a Jew that he has Ashkenazi DNA (a categorey in its own right) than it is to tell them which European country their ancestors specifically came from.

There is, of course, some admixture with the local European population from later points in time. But these findings are very interesting.

It seems like Ashekenazi Jews are essentially a tight-knit group that have remained relatively "genetically pure" since the Middle Ages and derive from an early Middle Eastern/European hybrid band of peoples.

The Ashkenazi had a small founding population of Jewish migrants from the Rhine area of western europe into Poland and Russia about a 1000 years ago. Their population exploded as they moved east. Once established in villages in Eastern Europe there were rules from both sides (Jews, and their Gentile nieghbors in eastern europe) against intermarriage. So you have both a small group of founders, and taboos against marrying to the surrounding group. So you end up with a rather large inbred bunch of folks. One reason that Tay-Sachs disease appears among the Ashkenazi.

Their numbers grew fast. In the eleventh century the Ashkenazi were about three percent of the World's Jewish population. In 1930 they were about 90 percent. So they are a large but inbred group.

I just looked up Ashkenazi Jews on Wiki, and it says the same things I said. That north european jews have genetic kinship to the Levant. Not to their surrounding Gentile neighbors. Every source agrees with me. Cyberdad must have seen one questionable source that says the opposite, and he must have gotten obsessed with that one source.

I wonder if it depends on if the evaluation is based on Y vs. mitochondrial vs. other DNA.

Also, I'm impressed that mitochondrial was both in my browser's dictionary and that I spelled it correctly. 8)
