What Will Happen When You Die?

Not into new age, used to be, now only stick to ancient knowledge.
I used to be into death metal, now i only stick to gangsta rap.
That doesn't mean I believe in new age, I think new age has a lot of misinformation or incomplete information.
I mean, if the soul is energy, why and what mechanism would prevent a reincarnation?
What determines an untimely or unnatural death, and why would that have a bearing on the release of the soul and its reincarnation?

Nature dictates that if we live in harmony with it, we will die of old age when our body expires.
We attract by electromagnetic energy negativity, think of how a school bully unknowingly senses who to prey on. Not just geeks, plenty of geeks with no fear get left alone or dont care if they were to lose a fight.
We attract accidents, misery, attacks, or misfortune if we don't look after our body.
All of these are untimely deaths and our souls will roam the earth without a body vehicle to anchor itself to the earth, otherwise known as ghost hood.
Eventually the soul will reincarnate to learn it's lessons, that is the whole meaning of life, live, love and learn.
If we do not do these things we attract karmic debt which we have to pay off.
There is no evidence that our souls or spirits are energy. Indeed, there is an abundance of evidence that suggests our selves -- mind, soul, spirit, whatever -- are no more than emergent phenomena arising from synaptic activity, and when that synaptic activity stops, so does our personal existence.
It is like the computer in front of you -- only as long as power is applied to your computer does the data-exchange activity occur, and once power is removed, the computer becomes just another lump of matter; but where does all that data-exchange activity go? It stops too, and any residual energy is degraded and dissipated as heat.
Thus, all available evidence suggests that any energy related to our personal identities -- mind, soul, spirit, whatever -- simply stops being generated and is dissipated as heat as our bodies cool after death.
And by "evidence", I do not mean anecdotes, beliefs, doctrines, legends, myths, opinions, or traditions.

Well you are mistaken my friend.. i have no interest in an Aquarian Age.. Atlantis.. tarot reading.. channeling.. crystals.. astrology.. and mediumship.. acupuncture.. SO.. this belief you have.. is simply down to your own imaginings.. that you are projecting on to those around you.. - TO QUOTE - "By the end of the 1980s, the New Age movement had lost its momentum. Although primarily a religious movement, it was derided for its acceptance of unscientific ideas and practices. Then Spangler and the editors of several leading New Age periodicals proclaimed they no longer believed in the coming New Age. By the mid-1990s, it was evident that the movement was dying.”
In other words.. You're flogging a dead horse.. New age does not exist any more..
Just to be clear.. are you saying.. you believe Erwin Schroedinger and David Bohm are part of some new age cult that existed in the 1970's and has been extinct for 30 years or more..?
I have seen some strange counter-arguments in my time.. but this must be the weirdest..
Idealism has been of serious interest to philosophers.. both for.. and against... for centuries.. while the idea that the universe is a living entity also goes far back in time..
More than two thousand years ago.. Plato said that - “the universe is a single living creature that encompasses all living creatures within it."
While Schrodinger wrote - Science is reticent too when it is a question of the great Unity – the One of Parmenides – of which we all somehow form part, to which we belong. The most popular name for it in our time is God – with a capital ‘G’.
So you are mistaken if you believe these ideas are new.. they are both ancient and modern.. many of our greatest thinkers have provided evidence that support the universe is much stranger than we could ever imagine.. AND REMARKED HOW MIND-LIKE IT APPEARS TO BE.. for example.. most of what appears to be a material universe is in fact empty space... not matter.. as we once mistakenly believed.. and IF THE EARTH FELL INTO A BLACK HOLE.. IT WOULD BE CRUSHED DOWN TO THE SIZE OF A PEA.. and what we once thought of as NOTHING.. IS ACTUALLY SOMETHING.. and without the mystic experience you have only discovered a small part of who.. and what you are..
Objective Idealism
“Not only is the Universe stranger than we think, it is STRANGER THAN WE CAN THINK.” - said Werner Heisenberg
”Mind and intelligence are woven into the fabric of our universe in a way that ALTOGETHER SURPASSES OUR UNDERSTANDING.” wrote Freeman Dyson
"Today there is a wide measure of agreement that the stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than a great machine. Mind no longer appears as an accidental intruder into the realm of matter; we are beginning to suspect that we ought rather to hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter." - Sir James Jeans
"There is no time, space, or other reality outside of the perception of this one Mind; indeed, even we humans are not truly separate from it. We are more akin to cells that are part of a larger organism rather than independent beings."
Objective Idealism started with Friedrich Schelling, but found supporters in G.W.F. Hegel, Josiah Royce, and C.S. Peirce.
However.. doubt is the sign of a healthy intellect.. which is why we enjoy discussions..
AND.. as William Blake so nicely put it.. "Opposition is true friendship"
So it looks like you just made a new friend..

New Age mysticism ... Bible magic ... whatever ...

That would be meaningless, nature, the cosmos always has meaning. We are not just bodies and minds, we are spirit too, and spiritual evolution, learning and moving towards divinity is the meaning of life, it's just a school here, a boot camp, if we fail we incur karmic debt, if we succeed, we evolve.

Whatever exists is either matter, or is entirely dependent on matter for its existence.

I perceive only a material universe while simultaneously hoping for my immaterial "self" to continue after my body dies.

When I die my brain will stop functioning and then since my body and cells aren't being sustained by the usual biological processes (respiration, etc.) they will decay into other substances as bacteria and enzymes break them down. That's literally it, that's all I think will happen.
The only thing that weirds me out is the fact that our consciousness is just a brain and someone can get hit/shot/whatever in the head and just immediately die and not really exist anymore, but otherwise I'm not upset about dying or confused as to what happens.
