In many ways this is just a computer simulation. No one on WP do I know for a fact is real. This could all be a figment of my imagination, I could have undiagnosed schizophrenia, this could be an AI project ran by the US Department of Defence or I'm just a simulation to in this computer.

But none of that changes my opinion on who I think Alex is. He is the super users that created WP that makes him God.

But I think people are holding him to way too high of a standard. If there is someone on WP that could and is willing to do a better job I have yet to meet them. Most that think they can do better are the biblical equivalent of Satan. Which usually means they have a distorted view of what better is and/or they have exaggerated their own abilities to themselves and others to execute on their ideas.

Existentialism is not your strong point, is it? I use a modification of the Cartesian principle, (excuse the bad Latin) Vito ergo sum. I live, therefore I am.

I have compared Alex to God in the past, but facetiously, as I noted that, like God, he is all-powerful (almost) on WP, yet doesn't answer any correspondence.

Of course people hold him to too high a standard. He's younger than me, and expected to do so much. Is it any wonder he can't answer much correspondence?

Yes, and surprisingly in the majority. That is if you take sanity to be in the 95% section of a bell curve of a statistical population.

Excellent point. I also have met three other WP members, so at least three of you aren't just AIs (unless they have created GEAILs).

Don't mock the poor sod, calandale. I'm sorry you feel that way kilroy.

He even sat on his hands while we tried to deal with alcoholics and crackheads. I have NO trust or belief in his abillites to lead WP.

This is the 16 year old Flagg talking, not the one whom I thought was in his 30's. How much work do you think Alex has to do, as well as WP? And give me an actual instance of insanity OR ego issues. I know that your complaints about guidelines, figurehead issues and crackheads (mortuis nil nisi bonum, Flagg, remember that) are valid, but where was the insanity and ego issues?

Maybe for once I'd like to enjoy my age? Man, I spend most of my time on the internet nowadays being the mature guy in the group and it usually suits me fine but ocassionally I want the olden days of LUE, 4chan and /b/. A large part of my maturity came from those insane places (I did things behind insane there and let my inner demons have one hell of a time, I refuse to talk about most of the things I did back then) Call a bit of a midteenage crisis if you will.

I won't ask. I'm going through a mid-life crisis in my mid-twenties. Imagine that. I've had existential angst before, but nothing like the past year.

Same here, it's sorta hard for me to explain. It's just I realize I have a free pass to do a lot of s**t an adult couldn't away with and you know what? Everyday I am like this I am burning off a day when I could have been hell raising and just generally being a teen.

I think it was really LUE that showed me that, most of the guys there aren't much older then me and one day you realize you cannot understand them any more and end up thinking they are batshit crazy (Well, they actually were always batshit crazy). It's like mentally gaining a week everyday. Sometimes I even catch myself ranting like an old man and it scares the living s**t outta me honestly. I feel like I am going to be an old man by university.

I rather think that Alex can handle such mocking.

Oh come on. It's not like you haven't made the same kinds
of complaints, even in the open. I'm glad you're finally seeing
that he DOES have more to his life than running the site, but taking
it out on Flagg, who was demodded for trying to intervene too much,
and has some gripes, seems a bit unreasonable, no?

I said I shared his opinions on the scores I mentioned. That is, lack of guidelines, figurehead issues and dealing with 'crackheads' as Flagg so delicately put it. Not egotism or insanity. Those I never had any reason to be concerned about. The only major egotism and insanity I had to worry about was the Drooling Megalomaniac's.

Kilroy, I can truthfully say a perfectly similar thing: "Why'd He make me really, really horny, then give me an abusive wife who I had to divorce for safety's sake, then make me realize I'm maritally incompatible with everyone else, and then write in His Word that sex outside of marriage is wrong?" Don't you think I'm REALLY sexually frustrated by that prohibition from sex? And by the likelihood that I'll NEVER HAVE SEX AGAIN? I've got PLENTY to be frustrated with God about.

But I see regular glimpses of why He's right, and I see His protection in that prohibition.

God didn't give you an abusive wife; you chose her. You're sounding like KenM, attributing all your problems to God. Oh, and God doesn't make you really horny (lol), that's a chemical response in your brain. If you want to know about it, I can get my neuroscience book off the shelf.

Being Bi isn't a choice. Who you marry, where and when you have sex and whether or not you obey Him is. There's nothing 'perfectly similar' about the 'comparison' you drew. Choices, choices.

Again, I'm not convinced of this.
I'm forced to believe those who
claim that they had no option as
to their sexuality, but I think that
I could be attracted to blenders,
if I put my mind to it.

And, I suspect that I could quell my
attractions that I do have.

In everything or anything?

If a purely deterministic view were
really believed, one would be without
any purpose.

But that blender attraction wouldn't be naturally occurring or innate.

If sexuality is a choice, then why would people choose to be gay ,given all the crap they get?

Quell your attractions? Hmm...I'm not sure. To reproduce is the reason we exist, it would be extremely difficult if not impossible.

It's called facetiousness, Hadron. BTW, what do your friends call you? Baryon? Meson? (Physics students, duck and cover)

Neither of any of them. I dont reveal my real name online in public forum, but i do have nicknames.
