The only way to fight theocrats is to prevent them from properly practicing their beliefs.

I would enact hate speech laws similar to or stricter than those of Sweden. There, for example, quoting Leviticus 18:22 (the verse that says homosexuality is an “abomination”), is a criminal offense—a pastor was sent to prison for it about 20 years ago (google Ake Green). The law would also ban misgendering or deadnaming trans people

So if you say “Bruce Jenner” or “Ellen Page” (instead of Caitlyn Jenner or Elliott Page, respectively), off to jail you go!

It would cause a civil war if religion and Christianity was banned in Texas and America.We have freedom of religion here in America.Texas is not a theocracy where one denomination of Christianity calls all the shots.Texas is actually more liberal than the popular stereotype i would say.There are lots of unchurched and non-Christian people in the big cities of Texas.Althought I do agree some of our laws are too socially conservative like no legal pot and prostitution being a felony and gambling being banned and the existence of dry counties and dry cities.Texas is a state in a democratic republic.An example of a fascist country would be Mussolinni's Italy of the 20's 30's 40s.Christians are preparing for America banning Christianity.

That's not true in the slightest. Rape and forced abortions are both common in DPRK.

Texas is also terrible in regards to reproductive freedom, but NK might be the worst place on earth in that regard.

When people complain about how bad things are in the US, I guess it would help to remember that there are countries in this world that are MUCH worse.

But given how undeniably crazy things are getting in the US lately, I think people have good reason to be worried about the future of this country. Nobody wants this country to turn into something like The Handmaids Tale...

I agree that there's reasons to be concerned, I don't like slippery-slope arguments but the far-right have been greasing this slope for ages.

That said, the reactionaries in America have to push the Overton window over quite a bit more before comparisons to Iran, North Korea or other totalitarian regimes start to be fair. Those comparisons aren't useful criticisms because they're easy to debunk and have the potential to turn people away from the point one hopes to make, instead of helping to making that point.

Different States or parts of this Country have their own ways of programming the people who live in them . This includes the selection of media that are broadcast to them repeatedly .
Have noticed dramatic differences between Coastal Areas and , areas known before as the biblebelt and such .
