Nothing wrong with social security, as it has literally provided life for millions of elderly and disabled people.
Yes, boomers had a lot better workplace wages, security, and benefits due to unionization. That those things have been denied to too many today is hardly the fault of the Baby Boomers as a group, but of the greedy business class.

And which generation of humans do those greedy business class folks belong to? Same for the politicians of their day and anyone else involved in creating this mess? :chin:

The Great Generation? Gen X? Z? Millennials? :?

What exactly are Gen X, Z, and millennials doing to fix the problem? What are you doing, besides attacking one side of the poltical spectrum and completely ignoring the corruption and criminality of the other side?

Those "greedy business class folks" are from every generation.

First step is we’re acknowledging the problem and sorting out what to do about it.

Unfortunately that are far too many rich powerful boomers as a result of their greed that can’t be toppled from positions of power overnight.

But we’re most certainly voting differently, living our lives differently, being conscious of food and energy waste, making plans for the future of the planet and humanity instead of our own retirements etc.

Polls of grade school students as to who they’d vote for are shifting dramatically - waaaaay far left to the environmental parties. The kids have had enough of grandpa smoggies and aren’t going to perpetuate the same nonsense that got us all into this mess.

Corporate capitalism existed long before the boomers came along and it will exist long after they're dead. As long we continue to feed the disease, that is, which is voting for politicians who continue to serve corporate interests.

What did I just say about the voting intentions of young people? :?

Who are they going to vote for to make a difference when all the choices they're served up every few years serve the people we're talking about?

In Canada, the Green Party is polling higher than ever amongst those too young to vote - high enough that if they vote that way they give them real political decision making power that they've never had before in order to hold the corporate class accountable for their actions.

I hope for Canada's sake, that's accurate. Unfortunately, here in the U.S. there is no way to vote against corporate interests.

it is the billionaire class , Zuckerberg and his like , i thing he is generation X he too young to be a boomer but am sure there are boomers in the billionaire class , but this new breed of billionaires
i feel directly responsible , the guy that started apple and his cronies , guy that ran google .
these people actually like to appear innocent . And even donate some of their wealth overseas .
While people over here are not even able to survive . Go homeless then their companies that serve them build housing that financially out of reach for the average person .Or coerce local county / city governments into financing this housing . While in order to support the financing
the people who are just squeaking by, trying to live paycheck to paycheck are having their taxes raised by the same city/ county gov. who are financing the big corporations . I have tried to speak up at these bogus city hall meetings and been ignore or at least once remove by their police force. And i am a late stage boomer. .
The worse is watching the current generation support the zuckerbergs or the googles by their use
of their constantly attractive media platforms . Blindly support these people on a almost worldwide basis. And the current generstion is aware if this and still apoears addicted to BS thats being sold to them .

I suppose the WWI generation, who were running things leading up to the Great Depression.

I'm very end of the boomer age, and I look at what my kids face and wish we'd (a) understood the long term trends and effects better and (b) stopped them. Some of us tried, some of us didn't, most of us were just stuck trying to successfully navigate our own lives and taken along for the ride. It's pretty dang heart breaking, however, to know that collectively we didn't succeed in continuing or passing on the hope and promise that seemed so inherent to American society in our youth. I don't know that we can control the tides of fortune that ebb and flow for human societies, and blame feels pointless. I'm just ... sad.

Yes, but everyone knows plenty that DO fit the stereotype, and they are NOT apologetic at all. F those people.

What the hell do you expect. We do not have power. NOBODY I know LOVES Biden or Democrats. They voted a certain way because they felt they had no other choice. Events after the election basically vindicated this. The only way to make a third party viable in a garbage first-past-the-pole system is to mass organize and build a large voting block. It won't ever happen so long 80% of the population still only consume that which is fed to them through their idiot box. It's really hard to have a functional democracy in the post-truth society we live in where information itself is held hostage to opaque internet algorithms controlled by a**holes hidden away in exec rooms and corrupt billionaire-owned media empires.

wow the above post con: no way to create a third party . is spot on ! and if we were able to introduce a third party that was viable enough to attract voters . The media owned business class
would infiltrate and / or subvert the info we recieved concerning the third party . Bernie Sanders was almost looking like that could have been a possibility .But you will note that dropped out of the political mainstream . At one point he was a genuine contender . Who or what caused him to
drop out . If what we are given to vote for , is not a good choice,
(((Then there is No choice .)))
This is the same style electioneering that Russia has . We are no longer able to vote for a quality politician . ((Even Trump might not have been the best choice)) but his activities were shaking things up by putting America first on the Political and business Landscape .
But he was also shaking up the international landscape .
We are still Playing the Ukraine game . With Bidens son, Hunter Biden having involved himself in The Ukraine getting US help in exchange for Hunters Profit , but that no longer has a place in the media Info, we recieve . But Biden knows that the US is set to be triggered by Russias expansion.
So he has put into the media we recieve , About how he has threatened to put USA troops in Ukraine to counter that threat. But you hear nothing about Hunters involvement anywhere?
Shouldn't this have been done as soon as Russia invaded the Ukraine . What stopped the USA back then ? Trumps media counter blitz claimed it was Hunter NOT getting the business deal he wanted with Ukraine back when he was struggling to get votes.

Are you suggesting that Hunter Biden is STILL involved with the Ukraine? I'm not finding any evidence that he still is. Am I missing something? I think our national interests in keeping Russian away from the Ukraine remain and are entirely separate at this point.

He isn't. I seriously doubt that his ill-thought out business conducted in Ukraine was anything illicit as the right keeps trying to make us believe.

Just don’t ascribe the typical Boomer characteristics to this Boomer who for most of his life barely kept his head above water.

I haven’t taken anything from people in subsequent generations.
