I can relate to that as a gut reaction, but negativity is a relative concept, so what are we comparing the human race to? They're negative compared to how I'd prefer them to be, so if my preference is removed, they simply are what they are. And I know of many humans who are every bit as harmless and kind as I could reasonably expect them to be.
True, the comparison I was making a reference to was my own idealized versions of what humans *could* be, but which most aren't.
There are kind people that exist for sure, but in my experience, the amount of them seems to be outweighed by not so kind people.
