what IS racist is the fact that western countries farm out work to developing countries, cos the labour there is so much cheaper.

Yeah, outsoucing should be banned.

Not that I'm supporting outsourcing but how is it racist? The business owners don't care what color the face is as long as its cheaper.

China, but it all depends on how they handle the next three crisis:
1. Re-unification with Taiwan. If they cannot reunite peacefully then a huge war will break out (possibly w/US and Japan included) and that will destroy their economy, along with ours. India will likely pick up the slack and become the #1 economy if that happens.
2. The oil bottleneck with Japan. Right now China and Japan are saber-rattling over vital recourses in the seas close to them for oil-rights. China wants to share but Japan asserts the right that it is in their territory. Right now China has sent over a couple of destroyers to the sights so there is a very scary possibility that this could turn into a war between them.
3. USA. Of course, we do not want to give up our power. No empire in the history of the world (accept maybe great britain) has given up their power w/o fighting it out. I hope a war doesnt happen between us but there are many in Washington who like the status-que to remain the way it is.

The internet has become a vast source for the spread of information, be it of meritous value or not. I'm often amazed at the number of conspiracy based sites that talk about the New World Order and such. What about the present world order? Is it really doing that good of a job?

I think if you treat nations like companies, what you will find is that the countries will gobble each other up, not with wars etc, but with trade unions and political means. The European Union model is the most obvious example. I do care about what happens to individual people in overseas countries but I live in Australia. And what most Australians want is to just live. If we ever became a superpower then fine (I doubt it would happen) but we wouldn't go fight a war about it. Australia may have been a member of the coalition of the willing, but it was more so the Australian Government. I didn't protest, I was just rather dissapointed. Saddam had more than enough time to stop hurting people. If they would have just said, we're going to stop Saddam from committing further acts of human rights abuses, I would've been more supportive of it. I know this is a bit of a tangent, but what I'm trying to say is that there are those who fight and those who fight for true reasons. There are those countries who become major powers due to economical/social etc reasons, and there are those fight every inch of the way. The very notion of a superpower kind of sickens me in a way. Maybe I am not living in the reality of the world but I do believe it would be much better if we could just get over trying to get what we want and instead put that effort into bettering ourselves (unless of course, that's what we want).

So I for one hope that the concept of a superpower is eliminated and that people just become equals.

I agree.

May I suggest some reading
David C. Korton's "When Corporations Rule the World"
It explains a tremendous amount about the current world order, and who really is ruling the world. The question is, will there be a world, and will it be worth living in when enough people wake up and say no to global corporatism?

Good point. Global corporations are ruling the world in many ways and are getting ever more powerful.

They lobby politicians and give them backing politically and financially. Dont appease the global corporations and you will find things go downhill for your political career. Being the predidents son sure helped keep Bush in well paid jobs in oil companies despite being incompetent and likewise having rich oil companies back him certainly helped Bush get financial and other backing in his bid for presidency.

That 'Chiquita bananas' company lobbied on the US to raise taxes on European goods because Europe was buying the cheaper African bananas. Think how much power they can weild over individual countries. Countries, particularly small ones are held to ransom if they go against big business so the politicians do what comes naturally to them. Intermingle with and appease them, frequently to the detriment of the poorer classes. By doing this the politicians rarely find it hard to get a well paid job from the same companies that backed them politically and they made favourable policies and bidding choices for.

But they truly don't yet control the world. Their control is limited, they do not have armies. They may have lobbist but not all the time do they even get their ways.

Plus there are to many global corporations, so how would they even rule the earth.

They are intermingled with governments and politicians who control armies. The politicians know where their bread is buttered. The big companies are amalgamating all the time to become bigger and more powerful all the time.

I have said too much already. Government and corporate spies will be scouring the internet as i post this and certain keywords i have used will be picked up on and sent to their offices sending alarm bells ringing. Dont be surprised if i am run over by a bus or some other "accident" happens to me now i have posted this and you never hear from me again. This last paragraph has been a joke and a slight exageration, but governments do kill off law abiding citizens that cause them too much trouble politically. It has happened in Northern Ireland and elsewhere. I wish people wouldnt be so naive to these things and blindly follow political leaders and societies conventions without any ideas or convictions of their own.

The wealthy and noble Egyptians did the same thing for the Pharohs. Somehow I doubt that Narmer founded the First Dynasty without lots of political and finacncial support. That's how the world always has and always will work. I'm not claiming to like it, but that's the way it goes.

I just had to ask how corporations are ruling the world and to get your opinion on it.

I hope nobody arrests You or You have some corporate hitman get You.

Yes corporations are getting bigger and more powerful in this world.

It is to bad that all they think about is profits and control.

I hope You are still living when You read this.

If they come to get You I don't know ok.
