i personally dont go after islam because i dont live in an islamic country. i live in a christian country, believe me if i lived in an islamic country i'd be attacking them asmuch as i do christianity

Kind of missing the point. The OP asked why HE should care about politics. Do you maintain that SilverProteus has the power to decide who is or is not in office? All available evidence would disagree with such an assertion.

There are some like that. Richard Dawkins comes to mind as what I would consider an "evangelical atheist."

There are some who are personally evangelistic, but mainly they work in organizational forms. Are you claiming that all Christians are trying to convert you?

To answer why politics should be a concern: All citizens should at least have an interest in the way their country is run.
