murder is alright if it saves lives? wow, someones been watching too much dexter.

what if rather if you knew someone was going to kill someone else and you locked them up instead? or even better put them in a mental institute or got them to see a therapist? put them on medication?

anything is better than taking the fascist view that one life is better than another. we are all equal, anyone who thinks its better to murder one life to save another is a hypocrit, it presupposes some kind of ultimate truth, some kind of right morality.

you see, i believe that you should be killed, because you are going to murder someone. unfortunately the person next to me thinks i should be killed because i am going to murder someone. the funny thing is that initially i was planning to murder the person next to me because they were going to murder me.
do you see? its stupid. this arrangement could be made a million times over.

I was wondering how the thread got to 3 pages before I saw it, then I noticed that it was indeed a stale thread and frequency brought it back from the grave.

Reread this old topic and I grew wistful at the sight of a few I have not seen for some time.

AG is still weird. Good.

Just making a point: I am for the Dexter-ism approach (although he is more of "Murder is right if I want to" or "need to").

That does not mean that i think it is ok to murder people and harvest their organs or anything, for me saving lives is more "putting an end to serial killers by any means necessary". And in some states, the death penalty is still sanctioned by the state.

I have no empathy for these people, they are natural predators. You would not let a human-hating ferocious bear live in a small community would you? No, you would either tranquillise it and relocate it (somewhere faaaaar away) - or take it out with a bullet to its brain.

operative word being represent. anyway that was meant to be a funny jab totally beside the point. my point being that what are forums for if not to have discussions that run along time frames not possible in real life, i'm not sure?
