Is that really what the proposed wall would look like?
I find that exceedingly hard to believe.
We can do better than sheet metal, for goodness sake!
Ever hear of concrete?
And we can build it down into the ground, too.

That's one sorry-ass looking fence, my friend!

they say it was built to spec according to what wall was proposed at the time.

We arm our southern border, much the same a Mexico has armed its southern border, and shoot anyone carrying a ladder. No "wet foot dry foot" either.. all boats will be blown out of the water. This isnt "mean". Its called national security.

Statements such as these not only reveal the depth of a persons ignorance, but are a slap in the face of every hard working red blooded American. This country doesnt need Mexican labor, it needs better wages for its citizens. Even though the elite in this country have allowed Mexicans to steal jobs from blue collar Americans, Americans still do labor and they do it better. If Mexican labor has a reputation that is surpassed by anything but being cheap.. it is for being faulty and defective.

I dont think the average United States taxpayer is interested in bailing out another corrupt third world country hellbent on doing nothing in its own interest but sitting on its ass while it soaks up American charity. To hell with Mexico. The illegal aliens already here with their hands out, are bankrupting state after state. Its foolish to think that America is even capable of absorbing Mexicos poverty and asinine to imply that it should.

I couldnt agree more, especially with the last paragraph  . When West and East Germany reunited, the integration of a failed economy created a HUGE economic burden on Germany as a whole;including the former west Germany. NO ONE
else but you Ragtime wants to annex Mexico. The results for ordinary Americans would be DISASTEROUS.

I'm Mexican, and I pretty much feel like I could care less. Im a dual citizen anyway.

There are two types of working Mexicans. The lazy drunks who don't care about anything, and the psycho workers who are motivated beyond reason to work. You get it drilled early on that "You're brown, and uneducated, so you better work hard!". It's not as simple as you think, there is a systematic geist behind some of the workers. You're basically forced to be a worker ant from the day you are born. You're never going to be anything, just look at you, go work in the fields!

Some people, of course, don't get that. Its a really distinct division I've noticed.

Edit: Mexico is becoming United States jr. . Don't worry, in a couple years they'll peacefully want to join the United States . Trust me, the United States has an intoxicating culture.

The average height of a Mexican is 5'5. Average height of a white man is like 5'9 or 5'10. I got stuck somewhere in the middle, at a weird 5'7 / 5'8 height, so I again am between cultures.

BRB , going to go do some menial labor for a paycheck. (I'm kidding :P)

Edit: Being Mestizo is weird. I'm like a weird European / Mexican Indian hybrid. Im like a formless blob.

Yeah. I didn't want to say that :? . Well, I remember playing a game where you had civilizations. You could either use your culture, or your military, to conquer the other players. The United States has a very powerful amount of both. What I was trying to explain, is all the United States needs to do is keep pumping their culture down there, and you won't have to ever do anything in regards to the military.

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people".

Civilization is a awesome game. In Civ4 you can send a Great Artist to give a frontier city a "culture bomb" and if the city is close to a frontier city of another empire the other city will become surrounded by your culture and will then will revolt and then defect to your empire a a few turns.

I don't get why people are arguing that the "Neo-Americans" will somehow take up menial jobs. There is plenty to do in their states. They could remain in New New Mexico and work under U.S. specs

Creating something like the E.U. will flood America with low-skilled immigrants, however.

the fact that there would be much more intermariage between hispanics and whites, which would

Not all mexicans are brown. There are white hispanics too; they are mixed with Europeans you know?

Mexico is broken up into states. It's not as if the whole of Mexico will become a state known as Mexico.

Unlike you, I actually care about Mexico. I don't say or think "To hell with <insert country>".
You have no love, man.

Is the U.S. really "pumping it's culture down" into Mexico?
Isn't Mexico just pulling it in of their own volition?
That wouldn't be our doing.
Nearly every country in the world imports American music, films, clothing styles, etc. in droves.
So, we're not to blame if they want to be like us.
But liberals like to say it's all America's fault, but such an accusation departs from logic,
because it is those other countries who import our culture, simply because they like it.
I'm sorry if American liberals hate the fact that other countries look up to their country,
but it's true. But I understand it creates a distraction from flag-burning, so carry on.

Good point. I think exporting KISS and Britney has done more for world peace than any government program.

Mexicans are too proud to be forced into anything.

As long as you don't attempt to remove any of the following from Mexico you'll be fine: Liquor, tortillas, and the Virgin Mary.
