I felt stupid -_-

when i first heard about it, i just knew it cause it was trendy with tom cruise and john travolta and trying to get people to join by use of their celebrities. i thought that was pitiful. i didn't even realize how pitiful they are until much later (didn't really think about it too much in new orleans).

A matter of taste, I suppose. My preference is for hard SF such as the stuff of Heinlein, Asimov, Kuttner, Tenn, Clarke, Clement, Forward, Bear and some of LeGuinn. Even a bit of Sprague De Camp or VanVogt is not bad such as "Slan".

Well, semen has taste too, but there is no way I'd swallow that either.

Interesting point of view. Would you claim I'm a cocksucker because I like a good deal of science in my science fiction? Odd connection.

Not you. I was relating it more to the Scientologist and their choice of Hubbard for supreme leader. Bad taste all around.......

But how is Scientology different from even the bulk of other religions? They all prey on frightened people who assume there is somebody out there who has all the facts and for a good deal of subjugation and perhaps a wad of money can give them comfort and assurance that all will be well. I don't know how Scientology deals with death so I cannot compare it to other religions in that respect. Now that Hubbard is dead he is safe from a good deal of personal criticism but he surely made the most of it while he lived.

Even the most scanty observation of the way the world is run makes it very evident that most (not all) people in power in one way or another (including the West) are self serving crooks if not outright thugs with very little concern over the misery they create for the silly egotistical comforts they crave. Hubbard was not much different from most of them. We may be cleverer than chimpanzees but our drives and emotions are at best on the same level.

One thing going for chimps is the fact that they never start wars, or try to rip people off, or convert people to another religion or murder each other for material gain. Why? Because even though they don't think the way we do, their instinct tells them to only get what they need to survive, and you need a thought process to make all the decisions mentioned above. Therefore, maybe chimps are actually smarter.

Diuretics topic

Scientology is multi level marketing of an idea that has absolutely no science in its intent. It is a financial cult like business not unlike a religious cult. That it succeeds without mainstream advertising of any kind (except for word of mouth, Tom CRUSE and the Internet) is amazing and so it relies on brainwashing techniques and fear to keep it in business.

I predict its demise in less than 50 years. I wish I could be around to see the last of it. :P

Hence my pun. Diuretics make you excrete liquid and general people who have water retention are put on them. Dianetics is what would give me the s**ts.... :) :)
