One cannot assert that God is dead because we are never permitted to visit the institution into which he is obviously confined. It is obvious he is quite ill and mentally confused as is only to be expected of a poor creature several thousand years old. His mismanagement of the world, almost from its very inception (6000 years ago?) with Adam sneaking apples and Killer Cain whacking poor Abel is recorded in his completely self contradicting chronicles and subsequent periodic exterminations of populations show clearly he never really was much of a manager. Perhaps not dead, but very, very sick. Alzheimer's?
