I would say yes, since we're talking strictly theoretically here.

He has to know Palin is a bad choice, as good as she looks on paper, women won't connect with the gun-toting Alaskan.

They're more likely to connect to Obama's caring and nurturing nature then Palin's gun-ho militarism.

And how else do you explain him moving from Centrist to jump to the far right just before the election?

I dunno.

Maybe he really does think this is a good choice.... but I personally think he just threw the election, and I have to think he's intelligent enough to realize that.

It's the bubble. Candidates live in a bubble. He wants to win so badly that he has stopped being himself. The problem is, the bubble isn't real, and he isn't seeing clearly.

The funny thing is, if you read my earlier post, I thought the move added a lot of interest to his ticket. So the odd choice will appeal to some people. I know I don't agree with Palin on about anything, but I find her interesting. Interesting is energizing. Interesting can move votes. We're only talking about the few undecided's here. The swing votes. In swing states. It's a pretty limited population base that McCain needs to persuad so he can win.

It's not really a contradiction.

There are racists and sexists alive and voting in this country in large numbers.

The fact that both parties have a minority on the ticket bears no direct relationship with the state of racism or sexism in America.

I mentioned it because it is historically significant.

We're either going to have a black president or a female vice president.

I predict the Libertarian party will garner record breaking votes this election.

Ok, I can grasp that.

I think this election is over. Obama's pick solidified him in the eyes of the undecided.

McCains pick just divided his Base.

So how do people feel about her attitude toward Down Syndrome? Her fifth child has DS. The articles I've read have her using positive language to describe her child. Do you think her attitude on DS makes her a pro-AS candidate?

And anti-abortion, anti-eugenics, I think is where the question was leading.

But there are those who are anti-abortion who feel the issue should not be legislated. Don't know where she is on that. But it could be telling that she even did the pre-natal testing (see above post). Or not, lol. I MUST get back to my real life duties!
