Evidently someone thinks I created this thread. It's lots of fun, but not my doing.

Actually in all honesty I'm not quite convinced this was a pure act of trolling. It's not like he just registered today, he's had an account for a while it looks like (May 2008) and it seems he just decided to post today. Maybe he posted the thread to be humorous? I've made posts like that (mainly in already main threads) that are humorous where I'm not intending to troll, it just seems when the person would like to make a joke about religion it becomes an issue because to many people on this site it's a very sensitive subject. When I first saw this thread I found it humorous honestly but I'm thinking Jesus should have posted this in another forum as the atmosphere here isn't one that enjoys jokes about religion, even if they are humorous.

It would still depend on the IP address, such accounts could be called "sleeper" accounts.

If I'm correct mods can view the IP address of the poster just by looking at some part of the post (In IPB it's the top right of the post, I've only been a moderator on two forums in my internet history and both had IPB so I don't really know the difference with phpBB, which is what I believe WP uses).

Yes, that feature is present in my forum as well.

"In The Beginning, it was a Dark and Stormy Night..."

Catchy, but the wrong genre...

"In The Beginning, it was a the best of times, and it was the worst of times..."

Naa ... it's been done...

"In The Beginning, there was a Being being a Being like no other Being could be..."

PFFT! Too existential ... Hey Murray! We need an opening line for a rewrite! Whaddaya got?

We should re-write the bible. It is fictional and obsolete as it is.

Ah, leave it alone ... it's losing relevance in secular society fast enough as it is!

Actually not even joking I'd find it fun to rewrite the bible, I and probably most people could do a better job. :P

The fantasy novel that I dream of completing one day is inspired partially from the bible.. the way it is written.. it wont be exactly like it, but it will have similarities to how it's written.. there won't be 'chapter one, chapter two'.. it will be written in 'The Book of..' etc. thigns like that.. so the stories can be extracted from the novel but they all connect together.

It's not me.

The style of humor is there, but the time is not. Proper trolling requires a good amount of time and stamina.

As much as I find the Bible full of contradictions and foolishness, the King James version was written at the time of Shakespeare and there is some suspicion that he might have had a hand in it. Shakespeare might seem arcane and out of date but the language is undoubtedly very beautiful for those who care about those things. Rewriting it would require a pretty good poet and a good deal of time. Of course, it is a translation from whatever the original might have been. Assuming that it is the direct word of God (who no doubt was proficient in Elizabethan English) is, of course, an entirely different matter.

Actually, I think he''s atheist, though he seems to have better understanding and respect for theology than most atheists.
