It's not that you are unattractive it's that you are so obsessed with yourself. You look alright but to be that obsessed with yourself, shouldn't you be supermodel material?

Just kidding, btw, lol.

I should practice the "if you can't say something nice stfu". creed right about now.

I'm confused, but I don't think I'm that attractive. I am very asymmetrical, therefore, ugly. I don't think much about my appearance (if I did I'd get depressed), but someone said Aspies are symmetrical, but I'm not.

Your looks are above average but if you obsess on it people confuse that with being vain. Some people enjoy vanity others don't seem to. Guess it depends on the person and the personality they like.

I´m just curious; I, too, have read that Aspies are supposed to be "good-looking" and "symmetrical" and all that....But why? Is there any scientific evidence to this? This just doesn´t seem rational to me. I also didn´t realize there was a stereotype that autistic people are supposed to be unattractive, that seems equally stupid.

And...

I hate pictures of myself. Ugh! I can´t tell if I´m attractive or not, that´s not the point, it´s more like I can´t believe that person could really be me. But, when I see pictures of me taken many years ago, it´s not so shocking, it seems acceptable. It´s a strange thing. Even worse, I can´t stand hearing my voice on an answering machine or some such recording. I sound so different from inside... 8O !

It's just an annoying stereotype. If you're beautiful/smart/have a family/etc. or anything else going for you then supposedly you can't be autistic. I think it's the idea that if you have something they consider so horrible, then every other aspect of your life and person must be awful.

It's quite known that Bill Gates is under the spectrum, he has it all.. (okay well not ALL, he doesn't have the looks LOL but does that mean he looks "autistic"? Well anyway) he has a wife, kids, money.. LOTS and LOTS of money... people probably just refuse to believe he is autistic even though he rocks at his meetings, in fact they probably laugh at the idea... the fact that he is living a full life would mean that he is not autistic right? Because how can that be, living a full life and being autistic? Just not possible!

I saw a couple videos, but didn't really believe it. My father thought it NOTEWORTHY to mention that Bill Gates was rocking while playing bridge. I guess My FATHER didn't know EITHER!

I doubt ANYONE is THAT symmetrical! I'm not. STILL, ugliness depends on how MUCH asymmetry there is, what is, and how it is. BTW I have a cross bite ALSO! Funny thing though.... Nobody said I was asymmetrical, and only my very last dentist apparently mentioned the cross bite.

I don't think you look ugly. Smiling DOES help though. I don't smile much myself, but women just tend to look better when they smile.

ewww...telling her to smile for who...you? She looks fine and she was told couldn't be autistic because she was pretty. That is a lame stereotype that shouldn't exist. Autism comes from within and doesn't come with a standardized look. Maybe this is the real reason why women with autism are missed.

Hope not.

I don't smile alot for pictures. Do you?

I personally cannot stand it when flash their teeth alot in pictures.

To mysterious_misfit :

You look great to me. I also love that expressive look on the left picture. I love character and it looks like you have a labyrinth of it.

Speechless. Wow, all this time you were told or thought you had autism and it turns out you are just beautiful. How are you going to handle this shocking revelation?

Frankly, I was surprised when I smiled in ANY pictures, but I was probably asked to sy cheese or something. I RARELY show teeth though. And I didn't mean it to be insulting.

I actually do the same thing. When I was a child, my grin was far too wide. When I got older, smiling for pictures felt fake to me so I would only smile without showing my teeth. It's only been in the past few years that I don't feel embarrassed smiling showing my teeth, but even now I feel better not.

i hate fake smiling and rarely show my teeth when i fake smile. if i'm smiling then i want it to be because i'm happy not because i'm forced to. it feels so fake and oh so wrong. i like taking pictures of people with real emotions. i sneak up on them and before they know what's happening...*snap*
