Yes, I do. I keep it quiet, but I still do.

Ever since 22, I've found myself praying whenever I feel "lost" or in a situation that I don't feel I have the tools and means to deal with. I get anxiety about the outcome being hopeless, so I ask for guidance. Does anyone else feel the need to do so?

The best that prayer can do is to help "center" one's self. It is really a form of meditation. Begging for heavenly favors is wishing somehow that the world is something other than it is. The best you can ask for and expect is to accept What Is and be calm about it.

The answer to prayer is Courage and Acceptance.

So when everything is falling apart and the world is going to hell in a hand basket you might very well ask for the strength to keep your wits about you, to focus and not to panic.

One of the best prayers of all is the Bene Gessert Litany from Dune:

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

No matter who or what your god is, that prayer can be answered.

Hey thanks ruveyn, I might keep something like this more in mind.

Fear is a big factor in my life right now.

Instead of focusing on fear, why not focus on strength and courage? Negative attracts negative, regardless of how you prefer to arrange the words.

Thought wise, my friend. :)

Positive thinking leads to a brighter, happy life.

Positive thinking’s a way to pretend
That all of your efforts will have a good end.
That an all seeing eye high up in the sky
Selects you, protects you from what’s ‘round the bend.
But time has its ways more nasty than nice
And chance plays the game with very black dice.
While things in the sky, with goodness, are frugal.
That eye in the sky is most likely Google.

Sorry, I don't argue. I just give my opinions from personal experience.

You might not want to acknowledge it but that's argument.
