it's all down to diet, not race.

I can smell amphetamine evaporating from human skin from miles away.

also, people from the Carribean eat some pretty weird stuff and I remember that they also use a lot of almond oil (well, at least the women) which makes a pretty unusual combination. I love that smell though, reminds me of some good old times.

I eat a lot of raw fish, soy sauce, wasabi as well as sesame oil and sesame seeds. I hardly eat any traditional western food like pasta, cheese, hamburgers etc. Does this make me smell like an asian, you mean?

The only thing I noticed in my diet which changes any kind of smell in my body is the root you usually have along with many japanese dishes. Called daikon in japanese, dunno what it's called in english but it makes my piss smell like newly changed diapers, kind of. Or like a sterile hospital toilet where someone just emptied their bowels. If that's how the piss japanese soldiers poured over captured american soldiers smelled, it's truly horrible. Haha makes me wanna throw up actually. I seriously cut down on daikon because of the smell it generates. However, nothing else seems to change anything in the way I smell, as far as I know.

yeah that would be my bet, although I obviously have no way to find out.

It is also to do with apocrine. East Asians have fewer apocrine sweat glands overall and people of African descent the highest concentration.

That sounds very logical, but aren't there individual variations too? I have very neutral body smell compared to many white males. My sweat doesn't really smell at all. If I just took a shower and then go out jogging for an hour I smell discreetly "sweet" but not salty or musky in any way.

I'm honestly not sure. Diet maybe? High protein diets produce a muskier scent too.

I'm not sure if they are "east asians", but many asians CAN stink of their diet! It TENDS too be more like koreans and philipinos, than chinese or japanese, but that is because the diet is more pungent.

Who told you THAT!? Ironically, most offensive ingredients contain LITTLE protein! Garlic, for example, is an ingredient many hate when taken to excess. Like other such items, it is LOW in protein! Normal soy beans, beef, chicken, normal fish, turkey, duck, are ALL high in protein, and DON'T create the smell. SOY SAUCE does, as do fermented soy bean products, but that is created by things that have more to do with sugar content, and they may LOWER overall protein.

Does that include France?

I've noticed that black people have a strange sort of smell LOL. The darker they are, the stronger it tends to be.

France is multiracial in my oppinion. You have these blonde and chestnut people who look like scandinavians, germans or dutch. You have brown eyed/brown haired people who still look "northern" (just like northern Italy) and then you have dark skinned, usually shorter people with big noses and eyes that are so big they almost pop out of the head, from the south of France who look like Napoleon but painted brown/black. I think the last category has similar body smell to middle-easterners even if they don't have typical middle-eastern features.

I met some really white-skinned french people with almost black hair, and they didn't have any strong smell I reacted too at least. I took dancing lessons with a french girl and she smelled kind of good and had good hygiene too. However, there were once two italians sitting next to me in an airplane, one of them looked more typical central European, and he didn't smell much, the other looked very southern/sicilian/napoli type and he actually smelled like dung. I don't know if it was bad hygiene but he had one of the strongest body smells I ever experienced.

Then again, I've also met a few swedish men in my lifetime, more blondish types, who smelled very salty and unpleasant. Usually very masculine types who have that smell. Generally though, I don't think swedish people smell very much, many just have bad hygiene which disgusts me a bit. Especially young people tend to have questionable hygiene, wearing the same clothes every day and showering in the evening, sometimes skipping brushing their teeth, It was like that when I went to school and I was really disgusted because I at least had perfect hygiene. I always had.

Typical swedes are usually filthy "backpacker" types imo. They like living inside of their fart-impregnated jeans and rolling in each other's beds in dirty, grey tube socks. They like sleepovers and boys and girls who are just friends tend to sleep over at each other's houses without sexual intentions. This is very swedish behaviour I'd say. It's unhygienic and filthy. Swedes also, like other scandinavians as well as brits, love festivals like Hultsfred where you basically live in tents without showering and go to public toilet sheds and indulge in heavy drinking 24/7. This is "fun" and "relaxation".
There's a lot to wish for when it comes to swedish hygiene, but as a race I don't think the natural body smell of scandinavians (in general) is very strong when they are clean.

I kinda know what you mean but I don't think it has anything to do with AS. Where I live, Asians are the ones who smell different. It's a strange odor. Usually it's their breath and it's not all of them, just certain ones. It reminds me of Water Chestnuts in Chinese food, and soy sauce. Maybe it has something to do with those ingredients and not brushing the teeth with toothpaste and using mouthwash. Their teeth look clean but maybe they don't use these products. Mouthwash and toothpaste are two ways to combat these odors. I always use both and I got to the dentist ever six months to get my teeth cleaned.

I am big about smells, and I notice a lot of people's scents. I don't notice any differences between races (and I've been around many different races, in case you are thinking this girl probably hasn't been around too many different races). Like, I've been around a guy who has a bad smell to him. It does smother me. He is black, but he is also big. So I could just as easily say big people stink too, not just black people. But, I also know two big black guys who are darker and bigger than the guy previously mentioned, and they always smell good. I could hug them for hours after they play basketball. So now I could say big black people smell good (since we are 2 to 1 here now). Obviously, it has something to do with something else outside of their race or size. Things like race, size, hair color, eye color, those are things we can measure when we meet someone. What we can't measure (which is probably the culprit here) is their diet, their ph system, etc. I do believe just basic body chemistry plays a role. Like, a perfume is going to smell slightly different on every person it is placed upon. Some perfumes that smell great on my mom stink on me. I think that Petroli (however you spell it) is the only thing that equally stinks no matter who is wearing it.

Anyway, I'm sure it's a mixture of many different variables that effects this. Notice houses all smell different? Even when nobody is living in them, they all have their own unique smell to them. My grandma Edie's kitchen always smelled a certain way. My Grandma Webster's kitchen smelled a certain way. Well, then my Grandma Edie moved out to my Uncle's house, and my Grandma Webster bought Edie's house, and the kitchen smelled totally different, nothing like either kitchen from before. Now that Grandma Webster passed away, and my Grandpa lives alone, the kitchen even smells more different.

If you are going to say that france is multiracial, you might as well say ALL countries are! There historically HAS been a definite type of person in france. Some might take umbrage with the term of white, as some are kind of distinctive to areas like france and spain, but it is the closest type. ALSO, there has been a TRADITIONAL type of diet. Of course, they DO let all kinds of people into the country, and the diets have grown. Even though france has tried to keep EVERYTHING french(They are KNOWN for that, and even do it in parts of CANADA), they have FAILED! BTW hair color and eye color mixed LONG ago. You can't really use THAT to compare anything. Besides, whites have ALL hair colors and eye colors.

BTW middle easterners, blacks, and asians DO sometimes have fewer steriotypical features because they have other races in their heritage. Look at Michael Jackson. He USED to be a steriotypical black! If you looked up the features of blacks in older text books, they might as well have been describing MJ! He EVEN used to sport a popular hairstyle that many black men liked, and it was called an AFRO! Frankly, people seemed to LIKE him, and thought he looked like a nice kid, and I don't know WHY he wanted to change! HECK, HE was the LEAD singer, and the one MOST noticed, and he STOOD OUT, and the group was SUCCESSFUL! If I were him, I wouldn't even wannt to take the RISK, let alone consider itt worth the trouble, to change! So he looked black, BIG DEAL!! ALSO, to FURTHER complicate matters, some whites became jewish LONG ago.(Hebrews and Whites DID have more distinctive differences) It is ironic that many did that to escape the wrath of the jews(see esther), and probably only their progeny were later able to claim they weren't jewish(during WWII). ALSO, whites have adopted islam, and moved to the middle east. Of course, blacks moved here, or were slaves, and married other races, etc.... Heck, I had a black friend once that was part white and had an asian husband. The children didn't look like either. You wouldn't know that either parent was their parent.

For the record, one of my uncles(white) married a japanese woman. They had kids that had a look that has been called eurasian. It is obvious that they have white and asian heritage. For what it was worth, if their older daughter were younger, and not related to me, I would want to marry her. She was PRETTY! I STILL remember how I felt when I was about 6 or 7. I was smitten, but knew it was a bad idea, frowned upon, and she was a teenager at the time! Their son didn't have any trouble getting girl friends either.
