Enough! Post an opinion or a question. The only forum this is appropriate for is the currently yet-to-be-developed "Crazy right-wing religious humor that isn't actually funny at all forum".

The subject line of this thread is very telling. Essentially; "If you disagree, we don't want to know. Keep quiet." This traditionally accomplishes two things:

1) We are afraid our claims won't stand up to scrutiny, so we don't want anyone bringing any opposing facts or evidence into the discussion.

2) Make a minority feel they are larger in numbers. This is actually working in the Liberals' favor right now. So long as the 20% or so hard-right segment of the population believe they are the real majority they won't evolve, and will lose the next election even bigger than this one.

On another subject: Not only is the VP allowed to run after his president runs 2 terms but it is tradition. From a PR angle, it's the next best thing to getting a third term out of that president, plus the party has a built in well-known-candidate. This is part of what makes Cheney even more of an anomaly that he already is. One of the least-known-while-in-office VPs, he showed no desire to run and the GOP showed even more desire not to run him, saying a lot about Bush/Cheney's popularity. Or lack thereof.

Democrats are on the inside what Republicans are on the outside.

Yes we do have a 1 party system masquerading as a two party system. Until I become Emperor of Earth, it will have to do!

Obama's anything but stupid. He (and, to give credit where it is do, his public relations people) managed to completely reverse the structure of grassroots campaigning. Rather than the popular movement being bottom-up, influencing and pressuring the president into certain policies, Obama's activists take their orders top-down.

Obama's accomplished this all the while maintaining an illusion that his candidacy was actually people powered or people inspired. Not to mention his ability to guise up American exceptionalism in a (using the American sense of the term) "liberal" cover. "In no other country is this even possible" was such a testament to the greatness of American democracy, truly a well-needed national ego stimulus.

Back to his reinvention of grassroots activism, he and his PR advisors managed to tap a $500 million base of netroots activist small-donors. In a mark of graditude, he was also able to denigrate the "online audience".

Not to mention the genius of Obama's ability to challenge torture directly conducted by the United States but to ignore torture the United States outsource to the Syrians (among others).

He's managed to get the financial officials who brought the US into recession, including some people who failed to pay their taxes (I'll never forget a Times article denigrating this matter of principle as mere "fussing" by some "IRS bureaucrat". The pertinent point that people connected to Wall Street may have vested interests being unworthy of mention.). It is terrific that failing firms can be bailed out with public money and then use those funds for CEO bonuses.

Economists like Nobel Prize winning Paul Krugman or Dean Baker (one of the few to accurately predict the spiral into recession) are passed over while Geithner and Summers rule supreme. A particularly pertinent quote should be Baker's...
