Results announced just 2 hours ago. She was convinced she wouldnt make the 15 person list of parish councillors.....she came 4th!

Very proud of her work on it and we shall have a celebratory dinner tonight!

I also know a councillor who lost her post yesterday. Seen as a real shock and she hasn't taken it well at all. I know 2 others who kept theirs.

Prime Minister widely reported to be officially resigning today and announcing when her last day in office will be. She could stay on from anywhere between 2 weeks to 3 months until someone new is in place. My only surprise is that David Liddington isn't pushing more to be stand in PM tbh. Though maybe he will do once she has made it official. I think it makes sense for the Tories to have her out and him in asap while they sort a new leader.

That's 2 PM's seen off by brexit. How long until a third?

I would suspect that any would-be PMs in the Tory party don't want to be the next PM, but the one after. The next one will inherit a veritable crock and will probably be cannon fodder. I'd still go for Chris Grayling, just to see how low we can sink. More seriously, I think it could be Hunt or Govie... Boris doesn't have a cat in hell's chance (but they said that about Trump, I believe). Personally, I hope they all disappear up their collective chuff.

Johnson obviously getting talked up loads by the right wing media but then he was last time too and had to pull out before he even started after Gove stitched him up.

Truth is there are so many games to be played, so many backs to be stabbed and so many secret pacts to be made that right now it is impossible to say who the final 2 will be. I think we are up to 16 who have said they want to be PM and will campaign to be so, though obviously some of them don't want to be PM and will pull out before the race starts as they are doing nothing but positioning themselves for a potential top job and will whore themselves, and their supporters, out to whoever they think has the best chance. Tory leadership battles are almost as bad as the hunger games

Haven't a clue who I would want as I basically want none of them. Whoever gets it though, they are still in a minority party with numbers in the HoC that do them no favours. Good luck with that!

Hundreds of years ago anyone backing the wrong guy would end up losing their head... I'm sure that would spice things up a bit. Nowadays they just have to spend six months sitting on the "naughty step"... boring!

I might prefer that "nice Mr Hunt" as he saved our local hospital. I'm easily pleased thay way. It does seem, though, that once sometime gets their arse on the seat of power they seem to have chemical changes in their brain and start acting a bit weird.

Made me laugh. Even someone like Putin or Kim could say "I'm staying on until the new guy is in place" and not be technically incorrect. History has shown however (as with Tony Blair) once you make an announcement like that you are an instant lame duck. In May's case, however, I think lame duck would be a promotion.
I'm sure she's looking forward to a nice comfy seat in the House of Lords.

Yeh... something not right about that. Whoever gets the job will get to be PM without the bother of having an election... I think the nasty party is just about to get a lot nastier... lots of backstabbing and political shenanigans.

Also... just been on holiday in Spain. Some Belgian bloke there held up a Belgian newspaper with a photo of Farage in it and laughed at us. What could I say? It was a fair cop!

Our next PM is about to be decided by 100,000 people who are 70% male and have an average age of 72
