Citing the Bible to people who believe it was written by men and not by any god, wouldn't do much help to your arguments.
Of course it does; it shows why I believe the things I'm saying!

Another thing I CONSTANTLY give up for my Christianity is dating women who aren't Christian. I realize that's best for me (no doubt about it), but it REALLY limits my selection. In fact, girls just saying they're Christian isn't enough; I have to really see that they probably are totally serious about Christ before dating them, or else I'm testing the Lord's patience. Paul said Christians can't marry non-Christians.
So, loneliness is a Christian sacrifice.
So, loneliness is a Christian sacrifice.
Tough sh**. You chose that. I don't exactly have a long line of girls waiting to sleep with me either.
Well, you never leave your flat, might be one reason. Another might be your avatar, no offense. Find a nice history-loving girl.

Awesome. So go be a Christian.
Oops
If that is the case then you should just tell them once and leave it at that. If they then ask you to kindly STFU, you should do so.
No, that's not in the contract. If an individual says to say no more to them, that's fine. But no one can tell us not to share the Gospel with people, even though that's actually on the law books of many countries, and even in official policies all over the western world.

I like to live my life without having to be kicked into a corner every time someone asks my views on gays! But we don't all get what we want. Before I tell you all my views, I always prepare to be blasted with your rude anti-Christic intollerence, and it always comes through as expected.

Because He used you to bring my attention to them, and now you'll see that the original post has been corrected.

Except that a Christian does become, immutably, a Christian after they choose to believe and repent. So that, then, IS what they are, so when they're persecuted, it is for being who they are. They're a "new creature", "transformed", "reborn" -- that's what all those terms mean -- they're not spiritually the same as they were when they were physically born.
About christians being persecuted, I just remember that Jehovah's Witnesses say they are persecuted, and that just because of the blood transfusion thing, which they think it's wrong. I've heard stories that there have been court orders when it comes to a minor to get blood transfusion in order to survive, yes, they are not happy about it.
Do you think they are really persecuted?
No. Blood transfusions are necessary, and they're in an obvious cult which shuns life-saving medical technology.
Exactly, they are against the life-saving medical thing, and they use the Bible to defend their arguments, just as you do to go against gay sexuality, and they think they are being persecuted for that, just as you say you are being persecuted. You don't see some parallels here?

Unlikely, really. Not just the experience issue,
nor desire (which is one of the points that many
queers bring up - that they really enjoy - but
some women do too), but also likely mouth
size.
Depends on the particular guy or girl giving, and also on the particular guy receiving.

I don't remember well my Biblical studies as a kid, I thought Paul said it was better not to marry at all.
I also remember that Paul was a misogynist.
No, he just wasn't a feminist. Nothing wrong with that -- neither am I. It doesn't mean I beat my wife, or stone her if she sleeps with another man, nor would I do so if it was the custom. That'd be cruel!! !
well, I do remember he objectified women as sexual objects and therefore, not being treated equal because they were objects of temptation, as at the time even having sexual thoughts was a sin. Probably hating wouldn't be exactly the right word, but obviously they were considered inferior at the time, and Paul indeed considered them inferior. I think some people see that as mysoginy.
I have a few examples:
Quote:
For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
1 Corinthians 11:7-9
For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
1 Corinthians 11:7-9
Quote:
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1 Corinthians 14:34-35
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1 Corinthians 14:34-35
Quote:
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Ephesians 5:22-23
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Ephesians 5:22-23
Quote:
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Ephesians 5:33
Ephesians 5:33
Quote:
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
1 Timothy 2:11-15
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
1 Timothy 2:11-15
And, as one who knows Scripture, I can tell you that these are the very worst treatments of women recommended in the New Testament. They are recommended offices/behaviours for women, as husbands ARE supposed to be the heads of their marriages, and lead their wives, who ARE supposed to submit their wills to their husbands. And the Prime Minister of Britain is supposed to lead that nation's people -- does that mean he hates them? Obviously not, or the people would overthrow the government. And you're right, these excerpts aren't misogynistic (which means "hateful of women"), so I accept your apology for saying that Paul was.

You say that christians are currently being persecuted now?
ok, let's just say that they really are, or at least that you are
Wouldn't that make you more sympathetic to gay people?
I'm sympathetic to all people who are being hatefully persecuted.
You do? doesn't seem very supportive though.

Wow, so you claim that salvation is possible

Aww. You poor Christians.
Aw, you poor homosexuals.
I bet most gay people get more sh** for being gay than you've ever had for being a Christian.
Seriously doubt that.
Were you bullied in school for being Christian? Did you lose 'friends' for being Christian? Did your family not accept you for being Christian?
Yes to all three, and I'll continue to lose people, opportunities, money, and possessions for living out my morality.
Are you so sure it was your
mere morality, and not your
personality?
The ones I'm thinking of were all definitely spiritual.
Indeed? I can't imagine spiritual things driving your
family away.
Oh well.

Nope. Jehovah's Witnesses are notorious for being weak on knowledge of Scripture. And I'm not talking about interpretations -- they literally aren't aware of most Bible verses.
