Bonobos are much more peaceful than humans. Of course they differ in tribes culturally, they are typically peaceful vegetarians.
They could be considered anarchists because there is no alpha, the females copulate with everyone. Homosexuality runs rampant too.

The common chimp tends to be much more violent and aggressive and is ruled by an alpha male.

There is too much information about this to list here. It's fascinating and I recommend looking into it.

My opinion is that NT's are like the common chimp. And aspies tend to be more like the pygmy chimps.

Of course, we are all individuals. Some people are more like the shy gorilla. :wink:

For those who might like this sort of thing.. here is a rather unique music video.. based on the bible verses.. recently quoted.

The same topic.. but illustrating it.. symbolically.. as a kind of story.

It is a small clip.. from a documentary on Gnosticism.. about the ideas of William Blake.

The art that appears in the film are just a few of the powerful images that Blake created.. on the topic of freedom and oppression.... (God.. verses the devil).

Yes, that equals phi. However, phi is hardly the most noteworthy of mathematical constants, and a lot the supposed evidence for it in nature out there suffers from epic confirmation bias, and a lot of the talk on golden spirals, as I pointed out, suffers from an inability to distinguish between a Fibonacci spiral and other logarithmic spirals. Logarithmic spirals are themselves an amazingly interesting thing, and I find it odd people only find the math behind spirals in nature interesting if it's backed up by some misunderstood relationship to a numerological sequence.

This is not to say that they aren't kind of interesting (one thing I learned recently is that apparently flower petals only in a Fibonacci number, and so far all the flowers I've counted do hold to this rule), and in fact I absolutely love the song Lateralus.

Can you give examples?

A new one I found out only today: each full turn of a DNA molecule is 34 by 21 angstroms, which are successive values of the Fibonacci sequence and therefore give a reasonable approximation of phi.

If that were a one-off thing, I would dismiss it as chance, but the two seem to appear in many, many places. Whether you believe in God or a spirit world or not, it's hard to say that there isn't a deep connection between these patterns.

That something has measures in angstroms whose ratio approximates phi is not inherently significant as regards to external realities.

Looking for phi in nature is inherently problematic; of course you're going to find it, you're looking for it without any good way of proving yourself wrong. That's why it's called confirmation bias.

Pseudo-math and numerology sees a pattern and infers an intent in one number rather than another because the constants we learn in school have since been demystified.

Nothing, other than they appear to be very common for some reason.

In other words, I don't take stock in things like Ramanujan saying that 2^n - 1 represents God because n = 0, 1, 2 or 3 for that expression yields a number important in Hinduism. Those are only four numbers.

Sling I don't know what this aguement is about but you can do better than a giant switch statement with gotos. Don't use goto like that willy-nilly it is bad practice. If you are doing first order programming then it is unavoidable, but you are not.

As for marco languages. I don't know why people bang on about them. Mostly because they don't understand what they are for. Marco languages, embeddable languages, Micro / domain specific languages, scripted/interpreted, just it time compilation all have their uses.

Having said that vba is good for the odd quick and dirty thing but not much else. Personally I haven't used it in years and have no reason to. But I understand why many who not programmers might start with it.

I was making a joke. It is not an argument in the usual sense of the word anyway, since I'm not presenting points of view or defending them.

For the record, both of those were for college assignments, so I had to do them a certain way and using a specific language. Personally, I find VB and VBA more fun to use than say C++ etc, although I found Ruby (and the RGSS in RMXP) quite fun to piss about in too. Incidentally I got Distinction for the VBA macro and Merit for the C++ app. I don't consider myself a leet programmer but I know enough to probably do a bit of freelance. My mate was actually going to start his own business and he was going to take one of my other friends on for Web Dev and me for Soft Dev. He found a sponsor but even with that he didn't have the money so he gave up before he went ahead with it.

A few notes:

  • You didn't include any bounds checking, e.g., behavior would be undefined if the user typed in 'C5'. Adding that in mine would have taken three or four more lines, but I chose to leave it out to show how incompetent you are.
  • Worse, you broke abstraction by copying and pasting the same boilerplate all over the place. What if you had changed the vending machine code globally?
