There's also the Yanomamo.

Quote:
Historically more than a third of the Ya̧nomamö males, on average, died from warfare.[3] Men who participated in killings had more wives and children than those who did not.[1]

Oh yes, it goes on.

Or what about the Apache's? Better yet, what about the AZTECS who developed their own civlization???

I know little about the Papuans or Apaches, but Maoris had agriculture and Aztecs had that plus a whole lot of other things.

It seems his point is that hunter-gatherers are more egalitarian, which, generally speaking, is true. (Mainly because they can't be differentiated in terms of power.)

Maori's had agriculture? I guess that was a bad example. A better example would be the Korowai tribe of the Papuan highlands who have an ancient tradition of cannibalsim or the Jivaro of Brazil who introduced the world to headshrinking :skull:; or even the Tlingits of SE Alaska who were slave traders. Hunter-gathers CAN be differentiated in terms of power, but that power for them lies in brute strength rather than material wealth. Street gangs are a very good example of tribal behaviour in modern times using modern weapons

Wow. This thread is still running! I'd have thought it would have died from lack of sustainability long ago.

The life of a thread is inversely proportional to the content of the posts.

You're a fuckin dingbat.. first of all tribes vote the leaders of their own tribes, pretty cut and dry, no politics involved.. i doubt they campaign and spread lies to become a chief.. because unlike civilized societies, they will overthrow their chief (mutiny them) if they did something outrageous..

SECONDLY, I've already said before I don't think we should be a 'tribe', but i don't think we should live in this kind of globally governed/policed civilization, period. You're totally assuming things, again to draw your own little conclusions.. nobody has ever asked me anything, not once.. you all assume things before asking. And since it is you who seem offended by my views.. :?:

LOL.. those tribes who are cannabalistic are evil, or out of their mind.. I don't think we should live in an evil society.. but don't compare the whole world to a cannabalistic tribe, you're so weak minded to think we would succomb to that if we gave up a fascist government. I suppose we need a psychotic government who slays millions of people rather than eat their own kind..

And no, street gangs are fucking criminals looking for a way out of this sh***y system. They don't want to be governed, but they are completely unrelated to real 'tribes'

Thanks for your brave wisdom.. But you're right, we should look to a future, a BETTER one.. not one where we are dragged to slave concentration camps, or are implanted with special barcode chips and made complete slaves of.. even when that happens your weak, pathetic, slime brain will still think society is unchangeable, that this is the way it should be.

But you never asked me for a solution.. it's right here! *pulls out a piece of paper*.. Hemp, hemp is the answer to all of the economy's problems all over the world, you can create anything from it.. but ask yourself you brave young man, why don't the government use it?

Image

Well, I'll give you a hint.. a strong self sufficient economy + Great health = massive power shift.. they would lose everything if we industrialized hemp in a republic kind of way.. Luckily forms of hemp are actually legal, like hemp seeds.. if we all ate hemp seeds every day we would be able to fight off cancer and diseases.. not to mention they are high in protein and essential fatty acids 3 and 6, with the best ratio of any plant in the world.. hemp seeds are actually the best thing you can put in your body.. but of course the list does go on..

I've actually found that the size of threads are usually the result of people posting in them because they are attracted to the subject.

Is it just you or does this guy seem to babble on and on without making any sense whatsoever? Does he lurch from one non sequitur to another? Are you baffled by his obscure metaphors? Are there so many typos you think that maybe he was typing while wearing a catcher's mitt? Can he really MEAN what he just said? What in the hell is hey talking about, anyway? Is this guy smoking something? Well, yes...in fact he is, and lightly tethered in orbit high above the Earth Bong remains far beyond the grasp of the even the most powerful of Warriors.

People have Instincts thankyouverymuch. And people on the bottom of the social ladder have pretty much NO incentive to obey the law because the ultimate purpose of the law is to maintain the social order which places them at the Bottom. Since they have nothing to gain from being lawful, they follow their instincts and act out. And guess what? I WORKS! You can make a
Shitload of money selling addictive drugs no matter how poor and uneducated you are. Futhermore, as pointed out repeatedly in the Love & Dating section, women LOVE badboys. Thats why young men who grow in povery and become gansta'-so they can get money and chicks. Whenver young men are either taken out of civilization for some extended period of time OR have no incentive to be "civilized" , gang violence is EXACTLY what they do!The less external order you have in a culture the more inclined (young)men are to use violence to solve problems and compete for status and women.

That's kind of funny. The threads with subjects I am most attracted to are ones I do not post in. I may pop in with an occasional remark, but it is most likely off topic or offers no insight to my opinion...like this one. Does not mean I'm not reading every word though.

If its nineties its a a bit of an Old World Order, is it not? Or a Classic World Order, like a classic car?

To be fair, the existence of all these organisations makes perfect sense. A summit of the most powerful nations leaders, arguing about how to fix this and that? An organisation encouraging global trade? Even rich old money having its fingers in all the pies. The all follow as being perfectly sensible ideas for this era.

Certainly I prefer Putin and Bush having a nice chat over a cup of tea than sabre-rattling via embassy dispatch and the media.
