I'm religious and all, but you totally lost me. How this topic turned to religion is beyond me.

But, since we are going there - here's another conspiracy theory for you and anyone who is religious - the Antichrist Theory.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/13/us/pope-obama-critics/

Miss Conspiracy Theorist

Please don't tell me you take that Antichrist horsesh*t seriously! I thought you're a Catholic, because then you'd believe the same thing that we Lutherans believe: that there's no Antichrist as in Satan's scion trying to undo Christ's work, but rather anyone who is opposed to, or sees fit to stand in the place of, Christ. Incidentally, references to the Antichrist, the Beast, and 666, almost certainly are veiled references to the Roman Emperor Nero, who persecuted the early church.

I'm not getting into a religious conversation with you and quoting Bible versus, but I will say that I've been Catholic since birth and one of the reasons I left the church is the present Pope. I really do believe this Pope (imo) is satanic. According to prophesy he is supposed to be the reining Pope when Jesus returns. (This Pope gives me the freaking creeps) . I do believe the antichrist is here, but I don't know who it is. From what I see this Pope is joined at the hip with Mr. Aw. I watch Jack Van Impe and he said that several Catholic Bishops are starting to come out and say there is something going on with the Pope and Mr. Aw. They are beginning to think what this article is saying. I don't know what to think, however, I do believe in the One World Order and I can definitely see these two doing things to bring it about. I think Armageddon is coming soon. The Jews have already said they are preparing for it also. I don't know what to think, but I know what I'm seeing and what I'm hearing. I must say that there hasn't been one religious patient that I've taken care of (not all same denominations) that hasn't said they believe the end is coming soon. It just feels like it is. It seems that the people who are religious know something is about to take place. I think we are going to get into a war with Russia too and if I'm not mistaken that is foretold in the Bible. And to be honest, I don't know what Lutherans believe.

Depends on the what Lutheran denomination you are talking about, the one I was born into the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod which quite literally teaches that the Pope and the Catholic church itself are the Antichrist but that is essentially what the religion was founded on. WELS kind of believes they are the one true church, a continuation of the original church after the Catholic one was corrupted. Lutherans like Catholics don't believe in the millinialist 'Left Behind' interpretation of the end times as made popular by Evangelicals in this country. From my understanding they do not believe in the rapture and then some period of tribulations or anything like that, we are living in tribulation as we speak so eventually Jesus will be resurrected with everyone that has died and bring final judgement to everyone at the same time or so the story goes if understand it correctly.

My friend Julia says that she's seeing in King James that there will be one religion that is one of the biggest religions that will be in with Satan and it will totally surprise all of its members and it will be the Catholic Church.
As a Catholic, I wasn't taught about the Rapture, however, listening to Jack Van Impe and my friend Julia telling me the scriptures, I do believe in it now.

The pope is saying we are not Christians if we want to wall out Mexico. The conversation is about the pope overstepping his boundaries.

Yeah, but why does he seem "Satanic" to you?

So you're saying that the current Pope was "put in" to start this new religion?

So who was it who "put him in"?

The Freemasons? The Illumanatti? The Rothchildes?

And since they can't even negotiate a merger between Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox Christianity why are you so worried about Catholicism merging with Islam? Doesnt seem like an imminent danger. In fact peace breaking out between the Sunnis and the Shiites within Islam doesnt seem an imminent danger. But you lay awake at night worried that any day now the Shiites, and the Sunnis, the Eastern Rite Christians, the Catholics, and the Protestants, will all merge? That's interesting.

It isn't the popes place to tell the US how to secure the nation. And it sure isn't his place to question someone's Christianity because they are trying to keep the country safe. I think he should address the Vaticans problems.

If you're not a Native American then you can't really co plain about people swarming in.Of course I don't want criminals, who does? Most are just looking for a better life for their families.Im sure they would rather stay home if they could survive.
Jesus would still shake his head.

Matthew 25:35-40New International Version (NIV)

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Its whoever is inside the Catholic Church that appoints the popes. I think the Bishops all vote. What I can say is usually a pope isn't replaced until he is dead, but this Pope replaced the last one when the last one could still get around and I believe it is because the old Pope didn't want to carry out the Catholic Churchs new agenda.

The Pope is correct in his rebuke on how a true Christian should behave. Its his job.Nobody said it would be easy to be a follower of Jesus.People say they are devout with their mouths but they actions tell a different story.

Securing the borders has nothing to do with religion, so I'm sure not going to feel guilty about wanting a safer nation. Have the Vatican take down their walls then maybe I'll listen.

Jesus also wasn't paying for all of their free stuff (He could make as much fish and bread as He wanted - which isn't no Mexican dish) and He didn't have to deal with the Mexican drug cartels.

Fish tacos. So Jesus is limited in power? He seemed to like some of the Romans,Tax collectors and ladies of ill repute.Even hung next to a theif. He liked the seedy characters, they needed him.
Jesus didn't care for money, render into Caesar what is Caesers.I like what he did with the money changers in the Temple.I image he'd just hand it out to the poor, don't really see him as investing in the stock market.

The pope most definitely should not be commenting on our politics if the Catholic Church wants to maintain its national sovereignty and tax exempt status, how much money does the Catholic Church sit on in its golden castle? What does that get spent on? They have more money than a lot of countries but they are not beholden to any national government to audit or account for their assets.

To me, to call any man god's representative on Earth is totally ridiculous, even for Christian standards. Do they honestly believe that the pope has some sort of back and forth with Jesus? History has shown us that that they are people just as corruptible as you or I maybe more, so I give no heed to any supposed religious figure. The people are the temple, not some walled city with a bunch of people in funny costumes and hats. A lot of the imagery of the Catholic church is not Christian in origin but that is true for Christianity and most of the world's great religions, it's all inherited from something before.

Well you really shouldn't have tax exemption for any church.

The US constitution specifically bars favouring/punishing any church, so that is a silly threat to make.

Other than that you make a good point, from someone who come from a catholic background.

Personally, I think the Pope is a little bit vague, much like Trump. He says popular things, but is light on detail The differnce is the Pope mostly has to "inspire", he doesn't have potentially run the US. So they are both full of hot air, but Trump is the only on that will be tested.

Pope also make a valid point about Christianity, especially early Christianity. He is correct on that, whether you think early Christian values are correct is another matter.

The Native American argument is so stupid when it comes to immigration, that should be a textbook example of why why you shouldn't invite foreigners to move en masse to your land because what respect they have will only last as long as they are in the minority. This was true with in the first couple generations of this country, you know that the Indian tribe that gave aid to the pilgrims was almost totally wiped out within 50 years? The same people turned against colonists and fought them but it was too late, the ones who didn't get killed were sold into slavery in the West Indies. It seems like they would of been better off just killing any white men they saw on sight.

The pope commenting on our politics is exactly why their was such a prejudice against Catholic candidates in this country at one time. We can't have leaders that are beholden to some foreign theocratic figurehead, we can't have leaders that are in any way aligned with the Catholic Church before the American people. Now, I don't think we have too many Catholics like that in public life, just people who wish to manipulate the message when it suits theirs like on immigration but you won't find all these newly unlapsed Catholic liberals because pope Francis standing on their soapbox to stop the crime of abortion.

The real issue of entangled alliances are all these Evangelicals who essentially pledge allegiance to Israel and think they need to actively bring about the end times and all that crazy ****.
