That's not what you usually say. What happened to the 'people choose their sexuality' BS?

And also, there's no 'danger' of me losing my 'gayness' because so what if I did? I'd then be straight or bi or whatever else. Not a problem. Losing 'gayness' isn't really a big deal. Losing morality is.

That fits into my point that you're attacked for an arbitrary attraction, whereas I'm attacked on more dangerous grounds.

if you're gonna say homosexuality is ARBITRARY

then why is it a sin?

why do you feel it's so right to consider it a sin?

you effectively just said that the bible has arbitrary rules............

I'll explain it again...
The attraction is not wrong, if you seek to follow God and pray for the attraction's decrease or cessation.

Follow my wording carefully.

you choose to act on it... but if you pray... god makes it go away (like he answers ALL prayers, lol)

lol Why didn't it work for my gay Christian friends in school then?

Well, YOU sure wouldn't know! I pray to Him more than you do, so I think I'd be more familiar with His answers than you would.

Again, why didn't it go away for my Christian friends who were gay? And it's certainly not that they didn't try enough.

Well, you do have a point there. When we choose Christ, we're told to "count the cost" (even though many skip that advice). You aren't responsible for the way you were born, so the persecution is more of an affliction for you than for me, in that sense. But in another sense, I have to struggle to hold onto my morality under fire, whereas you are guarunteed to be what you are, regardless -- you neither have to stand up, nor have to worry about giving up: you'll ALWAYS be this way. So, in that sense, you have more assurance than me, because I have to watch out that I don't fall away from God (sin) when the world pressures me to, whereas you have no "sin" (deviation from being how you were born) possible.

So, I have to conciously hold the line. You just have to stay alive, which should be rather easy.

this is utter nonsense!

how does being gay aobsolve you of being responsible for your morality? m and how exactly does homosexuality garantee her not to fall away from god?

what are you talking about?

do you mean BECAUSE she's not christian? that's the only thing i can fathom... though you're being very unclear if that's the case

cause it sounds like you're claimin your only issue you have to deal with is morality and all she has to deal with is sexuality (as if morals just dont apply to her because she's gay)

You have a lot of trouble with analogies, don't you? Of course gays are responsible for their morality -- I'm not talking about their morality, I'm talking about my morality, versus their gayness. They can't accidentally lose their gayness, whereas I can stumble in a moment of temptation and temporarily lose my morality -- or, if I became VERY discouraged, I could permanently lose my morality. I have to hold onto my morality, while it's being attacked, whereas Sopho will be gay no matter how many people attack her -- she's not in danger of losing it.

you know... i do just fine with analogies... you are not a very clear writer (thinker?)

by saying she can never lose her gayness........ why would she want to/how could she REALLY live in a christian lifestyle?

why would you have morals then... if you really thought deep down you were just a total sinful being...

i said you're confusing cause this is a terrible analogy to begin with... and like i said, you cant compare your morality to her gayness cause you're describing your morality as something malleable whereas her status is not... that's something you've conceded

you make terrible analogies so i work with what you give me (along with poor writing.... get off that blackberry and get to a real pc!)

You can't easily seperate poor writing from poor reading. (You can't easily assign blame there.) Strength in either department can help to compensate, and weakness in either department will weaken the communication.

well given my education and writing skills and that i was reading foreign languages at 10 yrs old.... i doubt it's my reading comprehenion.... though im working on my thesis while listening to your babble... i admit.. i am multitasking...

but you have very weak logic and that in itself leads to poor writing on a much higher level than simple grammar ect.

so learn to think and ill be done with my thesis soon and will be able to proof read your stuff better for you (or at least be more willing to try and figure out your convolusions)

What about a gay couple who only have oral sex or neither?

Women are better at sucking a penis than men are. Please don't ask me to go into the depths, as it were, of their silky mouths, and their natural subtle eroticism which so inflames us. Men suck more like they're playing professional sports, or working out, than like they're actually making sweet, sweet love to their partners.

And you would know this how exactly?

I remember you have discussed your homosexual urges before, Ragtime. Are you sure you're not in denial at the behest of your religion? You can't so easily get rid of natural urges like that.

I also said I thought of becoming Amish, but I haven't bought a pitchfork yet. And no, you can't "so easily get rid of" such urges; that's why one needs devine help.

Well, how do I know how much they tried?
But what I'm saying is that they are right with God if they're sincerely praying to be right with Him. Even if the attraction hasn't yet gone away as much as they would like. Translated, that means a woman can be attracted to a woman, and STILL be right with God. That's because God, graciously, counts wanting holiness as actually being holy before Him, if it's a sincere want.

you explain nothing...............

i kn ow you dont think the attraction is wrong.......... im not stupid you keep missing points of IMPORTANCE

if homosexual attraction is arbitrary....

why is having homo. sex a sin?

simply cause the bible says it's ARBIRARILY wrong

im not even getting into the loftier questions within the can of worms that you have now opened by saying this is an arbitrary matter

cause unlike morals... your actions cannot chance your homosexuality (and ragtime... homosexuality includes the behaviors associated with it... not just the attraction..... otherwise you could just ponder morals all day and be considered moral)

Sedaka, I hope you're not offended at this, but you're literally making me chuckle out loud, with each few posts of yours I read! I don't know how you'll take that...

So then if the attraction is ok, why isn't there some way that gay people can act on it? ie. you can get married and have sex. I can't.

you keep over looking that i used to be christian myself.... and i prayed with frevor and childlike innocence.......and i did have spiritual happiness but it is nothing compared to where i am now... i have much greater unison with the universe and all that is beyond...

and you'd be stupid if you're suggesting that god answers all prayers (and i dont mean with a simple no either...... that's not what im talking about)

Citing the Bible to people who believe it was written by men and not by any god, wouldn't do much help to your arguments.

Of course it does; it shows why I believe the things I'm saying!

We already know you believe this BS because of some old book. We don't need to know the exact parts. I always read your posts in threads I'm in, but I have to admit, I never read the Bible quotes.

Did you know that, with each new piece of Gospel information someone presents you with, you're under that much more accountability before God, for not listening? I won't provide the Bible verse for that, since you said you won't read it. But each time you willfully reject God, you're digging yourself deeper in final judgment.

That's why I keep clearly defining which particular aspect of homosexuality I'm discussing at the time.
