Again, why didn't it go away for my Christian friends who were gay? And it's certainly not that they didn't try enough.
Ask their priests. I am sure some of them will understand...

Well, how do I know how much they tried?
But what I'm saying is that they are right with God if they're sincerely praying to be right with Him. Even if the attraction hasn't yet gone away as much as they would like. Translated, that means a woman can be attracted to a woman, and STILL be right with God. That's because God, graciously, counts wanting holiness as actually being holy before Him, if it's a sincere want.
So then if the attraction is ok, why isn't there some way that gay people can act on it? ie. you can get married and have sex. I can't.
cause there's an aribtrary stipulation
in an arbitrarily correct religious text
that artbitrarily says you can only have sex with a man in marriage

Well then bollocks to that.
Why can't I get married anyway then? Straight atheists can.

Citing the Bible to people who believe it was written by men and not by any god, wouldn't do much help to your arguments.
Of course it does; it shows why I believe the things I'm saying!
We already know you believe this BS because of some old book. We don't need to know the exact parts. I always read your posts in threads I'm in, but I have to admit, I never read the Bible quotes.
Did you know that, with each new piece of Gospel information someone presents you with, you're under that much more accountability before God, for not listening? I won't provide the Bible verse for that, since you said you won't read it. But each time you willfully reject God, you're digging yourself deeper in final judgment.
they covered many bases when they put that book together
and i did know that... but it doesnt scare me so w/e i doubt you'd believe i even read the bible
edit: am eating soap

That's not what you usually say. What happened to the 'people choose their sexuality' BS?
Follow my wording carefully.
you choose to act on it... but if you pray... god makes it go away (like he answers ALL prayers, lol)
lol Why didn't it work for my gay Christian friends in school then?
cause unlike morals... your actions cannot chance your homosexuality (and ragtime... homosexuality includes the behaviors associated with it... not just the attraction..... otherwise you could just ponder morals all day and be considered moral)
That's why I keep clearly defining which particular aspect of homosexuality I'm discussing at the time.
i understand your grasp completely....
you just cant expand your undrstandings further... which is why you evade my questions on the harder aspects and keep redefining the easy familiar stuff

Well, YOU sure wouldn't know! I pray to Him more than you do, so I think I'd be more familiar with His answers than you would.
you keep over looking that i used to be christian myself....
No, I'm not forgetting, I'm including that knowledge. I pray to Him more than you do, and probably more total prayers, plus I'm spiritually a Christian, so I'd be more in-the-know than you would with regard to your saying God doesn't answer prayers, etc.
And there's no such thing has a former Christian. If they left Christendom, they were never truly saved to begin with. It's a fundamental spiritual change. Many people have a spirit of religion, and go to church, and even pray in a kind of religiosity, being ignorant of the Scriptures which one has to follow to come to God. It brings a happiness with it, but it's not real. (I realize this is getting very difficult to describe...)
And as far as God answering all prayers, He won't answer if you're in rebellion in your life. He answers only as Lord of all. If you refuse/refused to recongize Him as Lord of all, don't expect Him to respond.

you make false claims.... more prayer does not make you more of a christian nor does it imply you are more ernest/deserving/or wise from prayer.... so whatever im sorry you think that way
and dont pretend you can even fathom how i prayed or why i stopped being a christian (it was not upon discovering evolution... as you seem to view that as the root of all my evil)
and i will not stoop to answer you why im no longer christian so dont ask
and sorry, no god does not answer if you earnestly try... there are things he expects you to figure out
you have an odd concept on whether people are truly saved or not...
what if i had died whilst i was still a practicing christian? would i have gone to heaven? cause you seem to be saying that i was never saved*.
edit: * cause i was never "ernest"

Well, don't use me as example -- I can't get married. I'm quite sure God doesn't want me to, ever. I'll be celibate forever.
And I didn't say the attraction is good, I said God will overlook it if you're seeking Him, and therefore seeking to get rid of it.

You act as if Christianity is the reason you're not getting married.
First, you have to meet someone, and mutually fall in love, before you can talk about external hinderances. No one's hindering you from getting married but you.

You did get married though. It f****d up. So what? You were able to in the first place. I can't marry anyone I'd want to.
First, you have to meet someone, and mutually fall in love, before you can talk about external hinderances. No one's hindering you from getting married but you.
Well, tbh it is because of Christianity. Do you really think if there weren't so many Christians in the US gay marriage would even be an issue? Most people who want to stop gay people getting married appear to do so because of some ret*d religion.
And you can stfu about having to meet someone and mutually fall in love. I don't actually want to get married, I want the right to get married. I shouldn't have to meet someone first to have that right. And no one's hindering me from getting married to a man, yes. But I don't want to marry a man. Would you? You have the legal right to marry anyone you want as long as they consent to that, I don't. Why is that? Why shouldn't a man be legally able to marry his partner just because both of them have a penis?
That's not what you usually say. What happened to the 'people choose their sexuality' BS?

No, that's not my point, or what I wrote, and I HOPE you know that.
No, of course I don't think that.
Of course He wants you to figure out things! That's why he gave you such a big brain! Therefore, if you're praying for something that He's given YOU the ability to take care of, you should take care of it yourself rather than being lazy. God isn't a maid service or butler. Take responsibility.
what if i had died whilst i was still a practicing christian?
If you believed Jesus was the Son of God, died for your sins and rose again, and you repented of all your sins, and recognized Him as absolute Lord of your life, and didn't simply entertain all this as a philosophy, but TRULY believed it -- only you and God know if you truly did -- then you would go to Heaven if you died. But how can you believe, and know in your heart, that God is real one moment, and then be fully and permanently convinced He's not a moment later? That makes no sense. That's too huge a thing to just waffle on. Maybe you wanted to believe, but were never truly convinced of the reality. Maybe you thought of God as more of a state of mind or a mere force than an actual live person.
'Cause I'll tell you right now, there are A LOT of people who think they're following Christ, but are as lost as a ghost in the fog because they forsook the literal readings of salvatory doctrine in the New Testament, which includes lordship of God -- which many "Christians" reject today. They're the ones who say, "I love Jesus, but it's MY life, and I'm going to live it MY way." Cognitive dissonance.

WHY IS HAVING HOMOSEXUAL INTERCOUSRE A SIN?
what does God say to this Ragtime?
cause so far, you've made it clear that it feels unnatural to you and feels forced... which is why you dont agree to it (obviously)
but since god answers all your prayers cause you're so earnest.... what's he say on this matter?
cause the bible is arbitrary.......
well, you can quote scripture all you like....
just gimme something logical
