I don’t like the ways the word “defend” has been used over the past year and a half.

“Israel has the right to defend itself.”

Apparently, that entails blowing up people wearing very clearly marked press vests, ambulances, hospitals, children, olive groves, homes, etc. It’s beyond grotesque. And then to top it all off people blame the victims. It’s like something out of that genocidal handbook known as the Bible.

There are people legitimately defending themselves in the world, not trying to justify genocide in the interest of bigotry and revenge by calling it self-defense.

I'm a sheep without a shepherd but I don't need a shepherd especially if he's going to beat me over the head with a staff every once in a while. I keep the wolves at bay by evolving into a ram.

A lot of people complain about people of a certain race, or certain gender, but perhaps the much more efficient, accurate thing to discriminate on instead, is wether they are a Narcissist or Machiavellian.

Property damage isn't violence.

Denying health care is violence.

Change my mind.

Property damage ruins lives for the working class who worked their asses off trying to pay for necesseties like cars only to have their vehicles go up in flames.

That's not an argument that it's violence, only that it's morally wrong.

You know what else ruins a lot of lives? Being denied healthcare coverage because your insurance company decides it doesn't want to pay for life saving treatment.

Unlike property damage, that directly kills people.

I'm not advocating for property damage, only saying that property damage is less evil than killing people by refusing claims.

I no longer believe in "a lesser of two evils". If something is wrong it's wrong.

Also for the sake of contributing to this topic. I really hate both the far left and far right. Tankies vs MAGAs. They're both destroying my country and I feel less safe because of them.

I don't believe property damage, particularly to private as opposed to government property, is justifiable, but neither is forcibly removing public representatives who aren't bring violent but want answers to legitimate questions, for example.

That said, emotions do run high when people are frustrated and worried about their neighbours, friends and family.

If you think a teenager committed suicide is a tragedy but a trans teenager committed suicide is something to be mocked and celebrated, you should stop wasting oxygen.
