Do you play video shooter games? How is that different than shooting a bottle on a fence post?
Bottles are more replaceable when renewed from a data disc. I enjoy shooting up people in GTA:SA, but I also realise that they are replaceable. People in real life are not.
I have no interest in shooting other professional soldiers, or even "terrorists" (freedon-fighters.) I like shooting robots, zombies, and aliens.
Depending on the game, I have no interest in what the target is, providing it is interesting. In the MGS games, for example, you have to face up against professional soldiers. I have the option of using a tranquiliser, which I often do, mostly because in a game like MGS, (particularly MGS3) having a dead body tends to raise questions, especially considering Metal Gear Solid is a stealth game. In Resident Evil or Silent Hill, I do not go crazy with the ammo on the creatures within, mostly because in that game, it's tantamount to suicide.
To be perfectly honest, whenever I play FPSes with a friend of mine, he usually kicks my arse. On a good day for me, he merely 'pwns' me at a ratio of 5 to 1. (That is, I kill him once for every 5 kills he does of me)

Sure they are. We just keep making more.

Would you give my statement a little more consideration than twisted macabre humour, s'il vous plait?

You can use cheat codes in video games, in real life you can't.
And like I said, the 'targets' in a shooter can be refreshed readily. They are not unique.
