How about colonizing Mars? May I have your oxygen supply for this month?

Too small to be either a republic or an insane asylum.

With the creation of this second site, it would seem that the Aspie Separatist Movement is already divided.

:lmao: I'm actually chucking, in my distinct and peculiar laugh, as I type this.

A better comparsion is that if Libertarians can't even take over a state what's the chance of ... optimistically three Aspies being able to develop unheard of technology to colonize the sea?

I will ask you this uber-pertinent question: are you a satrist? If so, justify such absurdist satire (aside from keeping me forum addicted).

Hmmm I can just see it now; a colony made up of self absorbed people who avoid eye contact, misinterpret what is being said, cannot read facial expressions, have difficulty working well in groups and are extremely argumentative, not forgetting the often associated traits like OCD, PDD, ADD etc. Wow this colony is really gonna thrive!! To cap it all off you want this group of people that also enjoy isolation to live together on boats. What a recipe for one huge collective meltdown

I suspect that the OP may be a eugenicist.

Well, Karl Popper (In "Open Society and It's Enemies") outliend the possibility of an "abstract society" with less immediate human contact. He said that modern society (and that was in the 1950s) was heading in a direction. As a matter of fact, most Aspie miscommunication happens to occur through body language or speech, so an abstract society (where all communication is either by typewriter, as in Popper's thought experiment, or realistically email) would obviate this problem.

Of course, don't take this little attack of a detail of your criticism detract from my overall belief that realistically two people in a boat are completely unable to colonize the sea using as until now inexistent technology. Not to mention the sex ratio ... [sarcasm on] which could be fixed either by new test tube babies or allowing hordes of OCD and OCPD women to come along... [/sarcasm off] which is utterly disasters and would kill the idea if it wasn't alreaedy dead.

If you want to create a new country for your special people who need their own state where they're not the minority and victims of injustice from the majority, invade a small country in the middle east and establish a segregated society with the original inhabitants still there.

pointless, i mean establishing a state for the jewish people fair enough but if we're to establish a state for aspies then we'd need a state for every other kind of condition. Think about that

Mar's atmosphere is already 95% carbon dioxide though. Makes it bearable at the equator, but doesn't do much at the poles other than freeze as dry ice though.

I think the male/female ratio is great <grin>.

iamnotaparakeet brings up an interesting idea, that maybe aspies are specially adapted for space exploration and colonization, since the isolation is a PLUS.

Mostly I'm with legato on this, though. Both in the positive NT sibling stuff, and the I hate aspies too stuff.

But seriously we need to start colonizing earth, not just exploring it. Even in San Francisco there are so few opportunities to form real face to face (or maybe side to side) communities. There are thousands of us here but there are only a couple of small groups. It's time to organize (with lots of lists) and get neuro-diversity consciousness established.

I'd rather live in a normal country where it's easy to stand out and make it to the top in whatever we do, whether it's music, computers, science or whatever else we specialize in. If you can't, then maybe you're not so special.
