I've noticed this among other autistics/non-autistics..Why?
What made you turn away from Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hermes, Athena, Hades, Asclepius, Hercules, Hypnos, Hestia, Demeter and Aphrodite?
Why would I be angry at a third party for the actions of my parents? That makes about as much sense as being angry with Harry Potter because somebody steals your parking space.
Experiment: To determine whether the ancient Caananite god Yahweh, a famous example of the genus Homo Divinus, is an extant being, and to determine the attitude of the researcher toward him.
Method: The number of family members, from both immediate and extended families of the researcher were counted. This included siblings, parents, cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. The total was determined using the standard method of listing the names on a bleached sheet of A4 paper using a blue BIC pen, and counting how many names were listed. The final tally of 35, was greater than 33.01, the maximum value for which it was possible for Yahweh to exist. Hence, it was concluded that the number of family members is inconsistent with the Yahweh hypothesis. The threshold for the number of family members required to exist in order for the researcher to be angry at Yahweh was calculated and found to have a value of 25.271. Consequently, the researcher found himself to be angry at Yahweh.
Conclusion: Yahweh does not exist. The researcher is now angry at him, despite his not existing.
In a subsequent study it was also found that there are too many paperclips in my drawer for Sobek to exist. This made the researcher very happy with Cronos, and thoroughly annoyed with Morrigan.
Okay, you've got me there. I must admit, I am pretty ticked off with Thanatos. Mot as well.
No, that was what made me turn away from Odin.
My positivity or otherwise is independent of whether or not there are in this universe any invisible, immortal entities with magical powers.
Wrong. For evolution to happen it is necessary for the unfit to die - evolution itself has no goals at all. And yes, evolution is a cruel and terrible way for life to be brought about, and the world would be a much better place if organisms could come about via a means that does not involve death and suffering. Unfortunately, in the world we live in, evolution does take place, but its unpleasantness does not provide grounds for disbelieving it, anymore than pointing out how horrible cancer is should give us grounds to not believe in cancer.
So in other words, he's a rapist.
And just remember, Osiris is with you, even though you have turned away from him and only turned to that Yahweh cult in order to show your hatred for him.
i) I do not hate Christians anymore than I hate people who fall for Nigerian email scams.
ii) It's interesting that you seem to think that the only reason people might have an issue with Christianity is because they encountered an annoying Christian. I don't disbelieve in Hellenism because a Zeus worshipper decided to quote the Illiad at me. I don't disbelieve in Kemetism because somebody spat verses from the Egyptian Book of the Dead at me. I reject these religions because there is no grounds to believe them, as is the case with yours.

Arcanyn, lmao. Though true, and very funny.

I would like it if people could respect others more though, regardless of religion. People trying to convert me really annoy me for many varying reasons. Sometimes it's because they assume they know more, sometimes it's because I pity them and there are many other reasons. The biggest one (that annoys me) is when I realise that they are getting sad/depressed in their lives but think that they are happy and assume that I'm not because of what I believe.
Okay, a better question for me to ask would be: To you, who is Jesus? There are no wrong or right answers on this. It's all about how perceive him to be to you.
And, I want to make this very, very clear: I am NOT trying to convert anyone into Christianity!
This was a question out of my own curiosity. Or, is that out of bounds?

Well actually, if you reread your original post you'll see that it's more of a list of statements than questions and you are blatently trying to convert people.
Okay, then. I will say that I too am autistic. And in saying that, when I say things, they do not come out clearly. Get it?
But, I am surprised by the number of bashers and angry posts I'm getting. Couldn't this topic have been ignored at all?
And, to those who may be autistic: Maybe when you read my post for the first time, your anger just boiled with hatred, because, what if I met you in person? Would you have had a more stern reaction if I had asked a group of you? Also, my tone when I typed this was not at all offending anyone. It may have seemed that way, only because that's what you wanted it to sound like. Now, to clarify the means, please tell me what "key words" did I use that offended you, and I will try my best to back it up.

I can't speak for anyone else but I am not angry with you, I just think you are terribly deluded. This is not intended to be insulting any more than if I said you had athletes foot or cancer. It's a neutral diagnosis.
I just re-read my post and I had to re-think about each paragraph that I typed in yesterday evening. And yes, it does sound that way. And I do apologize about my post, and if there were people who thought I was trying to "convert" you, then I apologize. But, if you thought I was attacking you, don't you think you were also attacking me as well. With your Jesus jokes and your "You can't do that" antics? This board is for all autistics! Differences aside. And I am not ashamed to know and have Jesus in my life, not one bit! Faith and Grace can give you a lot of power in this crazy world.

The term deluded can be defined in so many terms, and yet in can also be used in way out of context. So, are in correct in your term or "out of context"?

There are so many obvious logical holes in Christian theology that it could only be irrational distorted thinking which might support it. My experience with believers is that it is entirely useless to present appeals to sane perceptions in discussions with believers. I am no longer tempted to try.
Okay, let me translate your original post for you.
I am going to insult you and i don't care.
I veiw wiccans, goths and agnostics with disdain.
I don't have a good enough reason to share this.
I'm allowed to insult you because they are opinions and i don't care if you're offended.
Agnostics are self-loathing and ammoral.
People do not believe in god because they are weak.
Which particular weakness made you turn away from god? Anger? Lack of original thought? Greed?
My life is better than yours.
I realise that i am preaching, but i wish to hide this fact because people are more open to change if they don't realise they are being manipulated.
I wasn't offended by your post, it's transparent to a level that makes it humorous. Still, your post isn't going to generate "proper" discussion about religion, not from me anyway because it's hard to take serious. Your questions are actually just a bunch of statements, you've already expressed an unwillingness to truly consider others veiwpoints. Plus i feel no real need to have a serious conversation with someone that veiws me with disdain.
My dear friend, by your meaning of "logical holes" and "irrational thinking", you are too scared to even try to experience the Christian life. And just about everyone who's hissing and booing at me, has either A.) been to church once and hated it B.) Was not raised in a Christian home C.) Started to have lots of questions about existence and couldn't find the answers what they wanted, so they look into something else of their own tastes D.) Possibly raised in a Christian home, either rebelled against family or traumatic incident occurred and blamed God for the events. E.) Encountered a fellow Christian and didn't like how he/she approached them and suspected that all Christians were "that way". The list goes on and on. And as for myself, I'm not perfect either. Plain and simple. But, I will say that if all of you think Christians are these "Ned Flanders" like people. You guys have watched way too many of The Simpsons. And no, Christians are not mean people, if they are then they are "legalistic". Me? I have my reason for posting this. I was listening to a radio broadcast about how the majority of people with Aspergers turn out to non-believers, which I already figured that. But, then a family came on the show, and a mother of an adult autistic spoke about her adult son whom she raised through teaching him the Bible. And when I was growing up, I too was raised in a Christian home, but I never read my Bible. Not a single day. I never started reading it until my early 20's. Hence, I've never read it completely. But, anyway, the prolonging, nagging posts can either continue or quit. It all depends on who gets angry next. ![]()
I'm not a Christian or any other religion. I'm agnostic, which is just another way of saying "I don't know....but you don't either". I've been to Church several times and liked it (assorted denominations). There were times I really wished I had some sort of faith but my understanding of science kept getting in the way. I've never actually met a "Ned Flanders" sort of Christian although I watch the Simpsons and woul;d certainly recognize the guy if his real-life counterpart ever showed up. I don't think there are any generalizations that can be made about Christians other than sharing a belief in God and Jesus as His Son. Which I don't. But I don't expect millions upon millions of people to all actually be alike or have similar personalities. Given how many denominations there are of Christianity, I don't expect Christians to all have similar beliefs either.
I was not raised in a Christian home so there is no rebelling against the parents coming into it. No anger either. I just find scientific arguments a lot more compelling than religious ones.
For the record, the engine that drives evolution isn't selective or premature death. All living things die. The engine of evolution is reproduction. Although the term "survival of the fittest" is often thrown around, what actually happens is not that some don't survive, but rather that some don't reproduce. Survival is sometimes used as a proxy for reproduction because the longer you live, theoretically the more youy should be able to reproduce and death gets in the way of reproduction. Except when it doesn't. An organism can survive without reproducing and none of its genes go on even though it survived (for a while, anyway). And an organism can die prematurely but its genes will go on as long as it was able to reproduce first.
Your amusing perception that I am frightened of your nonsense probably indicates you have a strange sense of humor. I have attended a few church services and found the ceremonies meaningless and quite boring. They did not impress me as being other than a bit of innocent mass insanity. I have never been religious and, as a child, I found discussing religion with my fellow four year olds differed not at all from the same conversations I held with people in their twenties or older who could supply me with no rational reason for believing in their absolute nonsense. I am truly sorry for you who will undoubtedly pass your whole precious lifetime unable to confront reality. I do not fear vampires, devils, fairies, God, or Godzilla. I am sorry you are so afflicted.

The reason why I don't believe in him is because it doesn't make any sense and things don't sync up in the bible. Why doesn't it mention dinosaurs? They existed and there is proof they had. I have also read how the earth might have been formed and I have heard about evolution and watched two shows on it. I think people are gullible for believing in the bible and are silly but it's their life and they can believe whatever they want. I notice how people have different beliefs about things and some believe there is more than one god so that tells me there is no right answer. Some believe you are going to hell for being gay or having a fetish or not believing in god. I was told you go to hell when you are bad and only good people go to heaven. I will not argue their beliefs and critisize them for it because it's very narrow minded and ignorant.
Spokane_Girl, you opened with the statement that you are an atheist. You continue by giving Otaku the "I don't tell others what to do and won't argue with them because I'm above that" type of spiel. You also mentioned that you have an anti-god religion.
Sweetie, you're an atheist, well kudos! That's all jolly well and good, but you are also be a member of the anti-god religion!? What is this anti-god religion that you speak of; how is it a religion if it's main tenant is the belief that there is no god?! (I'm done being facetious for now.)
I don't have a problem with you being an atheist, but I have *do* problem with raving hypocrisy. If you really had the whole "live and let live" philosophy, and truly did believe in the right to believe what you want, you would not be going against yourself and go so far as to say "I think people are gullible for believing in the bible and are silly." You clearly *do* "care if people go to church and worship [god]," if you are giving him a reply in the first place! Now, it's one thing for you to list your reasons for not believing in god on this forum, but if you plan to do that without arguing against him or inciting him, you really ought not flat out tell him he's silly for having the beliefs he has and that he's gullible for believing in the Bible.
If you want to be taken seriously, I have some recommendations for you.
1. Learn how to present your argument without devaluating it. You pepper your paragraphs with gross generalizations and flat-out erroneous claims.
2. Only say something if you mean it. You essentially wore a shiny "I'm not a hypocrite" badge as your opening statement, only to go on and make a fool of yourself by being just that.
3. At least make a slight effort not to sound absurd. Claiming to partake in an anti-god religion is absolutely absurd and out there. A religion requires the belief in some sort of higher power(s). A higher-power could easily be translated into a god. Now, my dear, please realize that an anti-god religion is an oxymoron! This is precisely why a belief system like Confucianism isn't classified as a definite religion, it's a belief system. By extension, Atheism isn't even a belief system, it's just the belief that there is no higher power!
4. Shoot for a minimum of 85% spelling accuracy. Also try to make sure your paragraphs not only make grammatical sense, but also have some kind of structure to get your point across instead of giving us a rambling and virtually incomprehensible dump of text.
5. Realize that there are different kinds of ways that people believe in the bible. Indeed, even an atheist could claim with some validity that he or she still maintains his or her belief in the bible! Why is this? To believe in the bible doesn't only mean that you literally believe in every word of it, but can in some cases just mean that you place value on some of the lessons that the bible teaches. I'm sure that many of us believe in at least some of the lessons taught by the bible. I don't personally claim to believe in the bible, and I do not identify as a Christian in the slightest, but I can certainly say that "sleeping with your brother's wife" is one of many things in the bible that I wholeheartedly agree with as being a bad thing to do!
6. Just in general try not to construe what people are saying.
7. Know your facts, and try not to speak out against things while you are so incredibly ignorant on the topic.
8. Many people who don't believe in the bible at all (or have never even heard of the bible) are people who believe in god(s). Christianity isn't the only religion out there, you know!
9. Give it thought. Do you honestly feel it is intrinsic that the bible be scientifically accurate AND that it specifically mention dinosaurs (which had been extinct long before we humans came on the scene) in order for someone to have any sort of belief in it?
10. If you don't like being judged, then don't judge others. Who says a belief must be justifiable?! You think that the bible is not a justifiable text to believe in because it, among other things, does not mention dinosaurs. In another post you have condemned racism, which by the way does not even slightly pertain to this thread. Please realize that your fervent belief that there is no god is, according to you, based on that you've "read how the earth might have been formed and I have heard about evolution and watched two shows on it." Now, tell me, HOW IS THAT grounds for your belief? And ON THOSE GROUNDS how could you think to condemn someone who may base his or her own beliefs on that fact that he or she has read about god's 7 day earth-creation, heard about intelligent-design, and watched two biblical tv shows. Maybe that person even 1upd you and saw Mel Gibson's Passion film! You are basing your beliefs on next to nothing. Maybe a racist believes black people are bad because he has seen old nazi films, read Mein Kampf and old eugenics textbooks, watches tv shows produced in nazi germany and watches Stormtrooper productions. Maybe he even has a KKK member for a daddy! Now, by your logic, this person's racism against black people is justified!
That otaku kid could benefit from this too.
