I'm sorry ruveyn, but if that's your idea of what Muslims are you are 100% wrong. No Muslim has the right to force anyone to become a Muslim. There is no such thing as convert and die.

Al Qaeda and Osam bin Laden are not devout Muslims. If they were devout they would try to invite you become a Muslim, by showing you the benefit of prayer and staying a way from sins. You have the wrong idea completely. Devout Muslims don't kill. If you feel that way, then I am sorry to say that you are someone who needs to change his hatred and bigotry. It's people like you, who claim to be Muslims, Christians and Jews who cause war on the face of the Earth.

so in that case people arent gonna change. human nature dictates this war not god. is god did create the entire universe we arent even ants to god. do you care what ants do? why should he care at all about muslams or christians or jews or frickin martians. let alone come down and personally dictate that all these groups should kill each other in his name.

at least send them an email saying america is destroying its self plus the world is gonna end in 2012 so can we just have a couple years of peace and quiet. i promise we'll stop if they do

The extremists are very devout Muslims. They understand the Q'ran and the Hadiths perfectly well and they are putting them into practice. Get used to it. Islam is not the Religion of Peace. It is the Religion of Submission.

Most middle eastern countries are highly welcoming to foreigners. The people are cordial, kind, and treat their guests as if they were nobility.

Arundhati Roy said that if even 0.5% of Muslims picked up arms and waged holy war, the world would be a wasteland. Muslims are over a billion in number. Terrorists barely have a few thousand recruits.

Many of my family members are living scattered throughout the Gulf, and they like it there.

In fact, some of these countries are so westernised, that the residents of the United Arab Emirates call it the United States of Dubai, the big apple of the East, etc.

didnt the uae just arrest a british couple for kissing in public?

Yes, that's true - it's cultural. It definitely happens here in India too. My sister and her boyfriend were harassed by cops last year for doing the same in a park. Generally, the indecency law here extends to 6 months in jail, they just bribed the cops for a small sum.

Generally, when you travel to a foreign country, one must respect the local laws present there. For example, India allows free of speech, but not freedom to hate. If a missionary appears and starts defaming the Hindu religion, he is sure to be promptly arrested.

I was surprised when I first read that "jihad" doesn't mean holy war as we were led to believe, Australia generally takes everything the US says as fact. When I went through a phase of looking up Islam it was obvious that it wasn't the cult of death that it is generally thought to be in the west.

I would have responded to some of the points "bully_on_speed" made, but to be honest, I didn't understand anything that you posted, it was just a mess of letters.

Have you actually met any Muslims?

Theory and practice are different things. In theory, the goal of Christianity is to convert everyone to Christianity in order to save them. Yet most Christians get along with non-Christians without having the urge to convert them.

Same with Islam. Don't let a few nutters prejudice you against the rest.
