In the public school I attended, my teachers regularly advocated Creationism, slammed on anything liberal, and constantly acted as apologists for Bush administration policy. The US Government textbook I used in my senior year civics class was nationally known for having an extreme right-wing bias. And conservatives have a long-established history of trying to subvert the public education system by injecting Creationism in science classes, and more recently trying to influence the Texas state textbook standards to support conservative viewpoints.
It's a technique that I think more liberals should use. The saying that you're losing the battle more emboldens your base. The problem is that people are getting complacent and will give more ground to the conservatives yet again and allow for more of a takeover of the country for theocratic fascism and a police state that enslaves minorities.

So, is that the situation today, and is it so in your imagination or in actuality? Oh, by the way, on my father's side my ancestors would have been slaves to the Romans. On my mother's my ancestors would have been slaves to the English.
I'm not bothering with you, I suggest you do the same in turn. I have no respect for you so why should it put forth any effort to dredge up the numbers illustrating the full picture of how the prison population is being used as a modern slave force. You don't give a scheiße about them anyways because you don't care about minorities (who, not coincidentally, are the majority in jail).
Also, do you even have a point with that post? Like...any relevant point at all that has any kind of meaning? A potential for your past ancestors to have been slaves is meaningless to this current situation. It's also why I don't bother with most of you conservatives because you're brainwashed into the most idiotic, off-topic points that barely relate to the topic and derail the discussion. Just like your question in the other threat about asking "who designed the system" or whatever. That's idiotic because it doesn't matter. What matters is fixing the system to actually elevate all of society rather than running around in circles and allowing the garbage to still occur.
I don't give a darn about what people look like on the outside, but if a person has a problem with what I look like on the outside, then I have a problem with them in particular. I'm not racist, neither in terms of irrational hatred or of irrational preference.
Now, you say all this stuff about prisoners. What the heck? There are also more "minorities" doing this or that, find some statistics and label it whatever you like. I don't consider the judicial branch in America to be just though, and I doubt that most of the people who are convicted of any crimes are actually guilty of them. Especially with my experience at Wal-Mart where I learned the meaning of the term "kangaroo-court".

All you know about other people is what they do, how they look, what they express overtly. Everything else is inference and guesswork. You do not know whether anyone but yourself has a mind.

Yet black people and the NAACP robotically bleat 'slavery' and play the slave card as they constantly push their agenda and demand reparations, and more government services or preferences or whatever. Not withstanding the fact that no living black person in America today was ever a proper slave prior to 1865.
It seems like for the black agenda, everything they want is always prefixed with statements like "the government must provide," or "create a program."
The problem is that Obama's base of support is comprised of many of the people who are the problem in this country and the ones who are taking more from the system than they put into it. Obama's base seems to view Obama as a candyman who is only there to provide them more health-care and other services.

As if minorities committing crimes should not be incarcerated just because of their skin color, and should be allowed to continue their crimes and victimize innnocent people?
Quote:
The Republicans since the 1960s have pursued electoral strategies that alienated the black vote. Before FDR blacks voted almost 100% Republican, and from the New Deal onwards they gradually started to shift more Democratic. Post-Civil Rights Movement they've been almost all Democrat. There are a lot of historical reasons for those voting patterns, and it isn't purely about policy issues.
Well, with the change of issues, the definition of what it means to be a Republican or Democrat is completely different than what it meant in 1860, 1930, or 1960. But the point remains that actually Blacks are on the whole more protective of their communities and socially conservative than Whites as a whole, so why not should Blacks vote for the more conservative faction???........ Because the Democrat party makes the express effort to play them up as a disadvantaged community and set their party up as the benefactors of blacks, and keep reinforcing their victim status.
Yes, Blacks voted as a bloc for the Republican parties until the 1930's and began to vote totally Democrat after Nixon's 'Southern Strategy' during his campaigns in the late 60's and early 70's. Nixon appealed to the "moral majority" who were fed up with issues like desegregation and he went after Southern whites who were disillusioned with the liberal direction the Democratic party was headed in.
If the liberals had just stopped with deseg and the Civil rights act, it all would have been fine. But instead, the envelope had to be pushed to 'correct' things and thus create a national double-standard for blacks and whites in which blacks became the preferred citizens.

No way. I live there, and I want to stay with my Jewish, Cuban, White, and Chinese friends. Ceding any part of the mainland US to the communist madness of Cuba would be a terrible mistake.
Fine, live there. I honestly don't care how the minorities sort their own affairs as long as they keep whites out of their problems. They can do what they want.
And I mean that it would be a breakaway state for ex-pat Cubans opposed to Communism. I guess it would be some kind of dictatorship but I don't care how they carry on their affairs or who they let in their land once they are broken off.

Exactly ! !! Because the liberal media never hesitates to display ridiculous conservative pundits like Ann Coulter. They can easily discredit and destroy them, and their opinions pose no real threat to the liberal agenda. It is a system of tolerating official opposition so they can appear to be playing fair. But the liberals take people like Ann Coulter and Glenn beck and put the spotlight on them to enhance their flaws and failings.
The liberal media tolerates people like Glenn Beck, and they get 'lots of attention' to display their lunacy, but the liberals never permit any real conservative threat to sprout up and challenge them in a national forum. They only tolerate people like Bill O'r and Pat Buchannan who really aren't a serious threat to them.

mine was the opposite and ultra-liberal to the point where students who expressed conservative views publically were browbeaten by a clique of liberal teachers. Students who expressed conservative views in essays and class discussions would have their grades marked down unless they towed the proper 'tolerant' party line, and even attract administrative attention.

Yeah right....... white America is so soft and complacent these days.
Allowing more continued accommodation of Muslims and minorites, and bending over backwards to appease them, is the same false and pusillanimous logic that allowed their communities to even establish a presence and agitate in our countries in the first place. The appeasement must stop.

In countries like France, its mostly the youth rioiting and agitating. The older first-generation seems more willing to assimilate or at least keep a low profile. I see no reason why the same pattern of an extremeist youth won't arise in America?

There are some studies suggesting that blacks are more likely to be incarcerated than whites who commit the same crimes, and also more likely to be unjustly incarcerated. I haven't read them in detail so I can't vouch for their validity, but it is an important possibility to consider that we may still have some degree of institutional racism.

I'll agree that affirmative action is poor policy, but I think in general we need to expand equality of opportunity to allow more blacks (and poor whites) to lift themselves out of the lower classes so they can join the mainstream culture. The state of our inner-city school districts is shameful, and it makes it much more difficult for anyone from the inner city to do much with their life.

Um... Fox is the liberal media now? Or the existence of Fox is all part of some far-ranging liberal conspiracy to make conservatives look like idiots? If so, liberals must be pretty stupid themselves, because their evil plan has backfired and huge numbers of conservatives take Fox and the idiots on parade there seriously, and actually vote based on the things they hear from Beck and O-Reilly.

Africa is a mess for a variety of reasons that I don't want to get into too much, but the legacy of colonialism is a part of it (not the whole thing, though). Largely the same with Asia. I will point out Japan, South Korea, and Singapore as examples of countries that are run quite well by Asians. If you like, I can point to some disasters managed by whites. Basically just look at all of Eastern Europe. I can also point out some white-managed countries in Latin America that are all dismal failures. I think it's obvious enough that the success or failure of a given nation-state depends on factors other than race.
DC and Detroit are failures because of the problems arising from their urban ghettos. This is less a racial issue and more a class issue. Whites do the same stuff when put in similarly sh***y situations.

As an atheist I find religion unnecessary in my life and it seems to me to be an impediment in many to accept many of the obvious facts revealed by the enlightenment and scientific discovery. But the overwhelming number of people in the world do seem to find religion necessary and there is no easy dismissal of their convictions. If anything the freedom and tolerance that is institutionalized and accepted in the USA has made great progress in many of the religions there in building understanding and civility amongst various religions and it seems to me the growth of Islam in the USA exposes it to the same growth of tolerance and consideration that has made other religions more civil. The US environment is a great opportunity for permitting Islam to mature into a more open and generous belief as opposed to the horrors offered by the Taliban and the Wahhabi sectors of the religion. The dogmas that have persisted from centuries ago and have little to do with the basic proclamations of all religions of peace and civility and love of humanity and it has a chance in the USA to flower and grow into more positive directions. The USA should seize the opportunity to move Islam in that direction as a force to bring East and West into sensible relationships and dispel the violence now operating in those contacts. Not to do so is to freeze and strengthen the enmity so desired by the extremists and which can destroy both East and West.

Because there wasn't constant coverage of his pastor, or exhaustive investigation into anyone he ever hung out with during his time in academia.
And McCain got to have softballs of his own. No one ever called him out over his "straight talk" that was anything but. No one pointed out that he was an academic failure who graduated at the bottom of his class. Almost no one talked about the blatant falseness of his "maverick" reputation that his campaign was built around. No one questioned his claim that getting shot down from his fighter plane made him an experienced military genius.

Since the largest property owners now probably have more say on who is presented for election than anybody else you should be delirious with joy at the resulting economic state of the USA.

They aren't Americans first of all just because they get papers. I think there is a very clear definition of what a cultural and ethnic American is. You can't just slap a stars-and-stripes sticker on the back of a Bantu or Japanese and they become American.
If whites emigrated en masse to China, they would always just be whites living in China and never proper Chinese. Even if Turks become 90% of the population in German borders, they will just be Turks living in Germany, not actual Germans.
Its ridiculous though that people just think they can slap a Union Jack on anyone, and they become British, or the case with any 3rd-world Immigrant to the west.
If I moved somewhere like Pakistan, even if I lived there for decades, I doubt the people there would ever consider me as Pakistani, try as I might. I'd always be an immgrant or tourist or something.
And ethnic and cultural Americans have had 400+ years to evlove as their own people.
As far as "believing in America" goes, I actually feel that the USA as it was has served its purpose to the world by defeating Fascism and is a power that has outlived its usefulness and run its course. America is naturally falling like the British Empire. The British Empire disbanded and much the better for the world and for the UK. It won't hurt America to lop off its cancerous overgrowth either.
Better to cut the losses now before the cancer spreads over the whole core of the nation.
Your arbitrary "Democratic prinicples" that you say the USA is based on have peaked and are now redundant. These values that we supposedly conform to are all your random opinion anyway. Don't "force us to be free."

Ha, very true. I almost forgot about the 'Reverend' Wright or the 'Church' where things like "F*** wh***y," and "GD America" were screamed from the pulpit.
Still, the semblance of impartiality has to be preserved until Whites become the minoriity or the whole program will be compromised.

How so? Politicians may not, in general, be the brightest folks but they can count votes.
If all our politicians are doing is "counting votes," than mabye our current Democratic paradigm that you stump for needs to change. This is the problem I was talking about with our Democracy running its course is that the whole system has become controlled by unaccountable elites who just count votes and have a stranglehold on the whole system. The "Democracy" is gone. The "Jewish Engineers" as it was put.
America is honestly too big anyway to accurately represent the wide spectrum of people living inside of it.
Sorry. The "Jewish engineers" was a jibe directed at ruveyn who considers himself the brightest intellect in the area and has obviously, through his past posts, indicated a rather overabundance of respect for both Jews and engineers, a couple of areas which he strangely belongs to. The state of current economics in the USA is obviously not dependent upon either Jews or engineers.

To be honest, I'm surprised that there isn't a large Jewish contingency fighting this considering that many witnessed the same kind of paranoid accusations and threats and attacks. You'd figure the ADL would take this up considering that they have so much free time that they exaggerate incidents into levels of antisemitism where there is none intended.

All you know about other people is what they do, how they look, what they express overtly. Everything else is inference and guesswork. You do not know whether anyone but yourself has a mind.

As it pertains to judging a person, only the criteria of "what they do" and "what they express" matter. The outward appearance may or may not be important depending upon choice in the matter, as in I cannot choose that I genetically have low base melanin production in my epidermis but I can choose to keep clean (in most circumstances, unless in a survival situation where there is no water available to clean with.)
