I am not saying and would never say I don't respect someone who works minimum wage to provide for his family.
If an idea is crazy and unrealistic, why would I have less respect for people who doesn't do it? It doesn't make sense. That's not what I meant.
Actually it does make sense if you have ridiculous expectations of what is possible for someone based on the assumption that everyone has the exact same capabilities. Some people have the possibility to be successful in life but just can't function with the way things are. There are problems and obstacles that people with the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality ignorantly dismiss out of hand. They dismiss the problems and tell the person they aren't "trying hard enough" so they can avoid the other logical conclusion, that some people really can't survive a certain way, at least not without being abjectly miserable every moment of their life. After a while it gets to the point where you just want to tell these people to go f**k themselves or worse because they simply refuse to understand.

I don't judge people solely based on money or success, however, I'm talking about two people who have an opportunity. One of them takes it and one of them b*tchs about how they can't do it. If the genuinely can't do it, that's fine but don't be mad at the people that can or do
At least make sure you have some actual objective knowledge of what people are dealing with in their lives before accusing them of "bitching" and "not trying". There's nothing worse than subjective opinionated judgements being touted as absolute knowledge of people you don't even know. Also, throwing everyone into the same box and assuming everyone can function the same as someone else if only they "worked equally hard" is irritating.
