Perry is a lunatic. He thinks God talks to him.

Apparently his opponents think so too:

Running against Perry is like running against God.

Not that I'm a fan - the more I find out about him, the more he seems like a politician interested in winning the next race, rather than someone who really understands the economy and will be able to help it fix itself.

After praying for rain to overcome an historic drought in Texas, Rick Perry now says of global warming:

Quote:
I think there are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data so that they will have dollars rolling into their projects.

Yet Rick Perry has accepted $11 million from the oil & gas industry. Someone is on the take, at least he got that part right.

That alone says volumes of how much he considers science to be false, as he obviously doesn't trust the work of scientists.

Of course. And today Rick Perry had these great comments about evolution.

Quote:
"How old do I think the Earth is?" Perry said repeating the boy's question. "I have no idea - it's pretty old. It goes back a long way - I'm not sure anyone knows really completely know how old it is

Quote:
“Your mom is asking about evolution. You know, that’s a theory that’s out there; it’s got some gaps in it. In Texas, we teach both creationism and evolution in our public schools — because I figure you’re smart enough to figure out which one is right.”

He previously put a young earth creationist in as chairman of the Texas board of education. This guy:

These people are determined to turn the clock back in regard to any progress - scientific or otherwise. I've also heard that Perry would like to repeal the 16th amendment, as well the the Voting Rights Act.

Apparently, Mitt Romney is a "cultist."

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Apparently, they've forgotten that the constitution specifies that there shall be no test of religion for holding public office.
You have to wonder how long it'll take for them to try to make belonging to the "proper religion" mandatory for holding office.
