I tend to agree with McJeff on this matter. Theocracy Watch definitely seems to overhype things towards its own political ends. We are not really close to a theocracy and to say such seems to be a falsehood, if anything, religion has been losing power in our government over the years(many of the 13 original colonies had theocratic tendencies and most of the religious right issues are the issues where they have lost ground in the past). By the way, Karl Rove is an agnostic and he was the only guy on that list that actually is involved in the government. Pointing out these people isn't absurd, you just don't have names and have this belief in conspiracies. Frankly, you will see people on the right who have the same crazy conspiracies about how the left is hijacking America and trying to change American values.

Initially there was a conspiracy of the religious right, and far enough up the ladder and beyond even our own government, there still is a conspiracy to take over the world. Plan A was Y2K during the Clinton administration, it failed because they under-estimated the peoples' ability to fix the problem on our own. Plan B was 9/11 and the plot of the religious right, it too is failing. Theyr factionlizing and splintering amoung themselves and hince theyr whole plan is falling to shambles. However one thing they are good at (perhaps due to political immunity and a higher force of protection) is covering their tracks.

Did you hear that? Pat Robertson now thinks Bush is "an unwitten agent of satan".

Now this is weird because earlier Pat Robertson resigned from his presidency over the Christian Coalition on Dec. 24, 2001 to allow the newly elected President Bush to become head of the new American Holy Christian Church.

But reguardless of how the religious right framework is falling apart, they are in a state of power atleast psychologically. Alot of their followers do seem to think in a theocratic mindset, about prayer in schools, "under god" in the pledge of allegience, the 10 Commandments on the courthouse, ban on gay marriage..... Though likely I think they higher powers behind the curtains are gonna go to plan C next and if that doesn't work they'll go to plan D.... But the jesus nazi's are falling apart, this may likely have something to do with Ashcroft and maybe even rumsfedlt's current dispositions. I don't think the Bush's are giving up though, this is why GW got his brother jeb into the race.

the main thing is about the Bush's, they connected the religious right's leadership (or what remains of it) to the oil industry, and as long as we're out grabbing oil and gauging gas prices , they've got a constant supply of funding. It's almost like a reserve power unit they've hijacked into our economy.

Apparently there is a controversy about Karl's religion.... which is very interesting.
