You do realize the facts debunks everything you have just said, then again you probably didn't.

Fact:
From January 2007-January 2011, Democrats have been in control of Congress.

Fact:
From January 2009-present Democrats Have been in control of the Presidency.

Fact:
From January 2009 thru about December 2009, Democrats had a fillabuster-proof control of the Senate.

Democrats could ram anything they wanted to through Congress and have signed into law (including the piece of trash known as Obamacare).

In this time the Democrats had royal problems getting Obamacare through because of just how bad that 2000+ page monstrosity was.

They didn't bother even attempting to craft a budget at all for fiscal year 2010 nor for 2011.


Fact:
Republicans have only had control of the House since January 2011 and the Democrats still control the Senate. The November 2010 election was the biggest landslide shift in over 70 years. It made 1994 look like a good year for Democrats.

Republicans have actually passed a budget in the house, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Democrat) has not even scheduled time for a budget to be worked on. Whether you like Paul Ryan's budget or not, Former President Bill Clinton even chided Democrats for not taking time to work on a budget and said he would be willing to sit down with Paul Ryan to improve his plan, because at least he has a plan to work with unlike the Democrats).

So the blaming Republicans doesn't fit the facts, as a matter of fact everything from January 2009 to December 2009 can be laid at the feet of Democrats, and just about everything from January 2010 to January 2011 can be laid at the Democrat's doorstep. Heck the Government shutdown can be laid at the feet of Democrats too, because that was caused by the fact Democrats didn't bother to pass a budget for fiscal year 2011, since they didn't want to go on the record of how they were mismanaging taxpayer money.

Now blauSamstag, did you simply just not know these facts or were you hoping that someone wasn't paying attention to what was actually going on, and wouldn't call you out on it? WHICH IS IT?

Some democrats were afraid of the patient protection and affordable care act because changing health care laws is always controversial.

It took so long because in the 1st draft, most of congress was pretty sure that it was really hillarycare part 2 - that it was just theater, and they could make a lot of noise and fail to pass anything and then say "well I tried to help some people but it didn't work out" and go about their business.

That's why it ended up getting scrapped and rewritten.

Unlike slick willy, Obama actually wants to get things done. Hillarycare was a travesty of political theater the shame of which is overshadowed only by hillary clinton's time on the board of Walmart.

The fact that he gets behind an issue and stays behind it causes a lot of heartburn.

The Ryan budget is a non-starter. The answer to that sort of legislation isn't just no, and isn't just f**k no, it's f**k you. f**k you and f**k the horse you rode in on, and f**k your mother too. It goes on from there, and includes some colorful descriptions of things that can be done with a broken shovel handle.

I've left more realistic budget proposals floating in a ceramic bowl.

The modus operandi of the current incarnation of the republican party is all theater and no substance. It is shameful, and when the revolution comes their kind will be the first up against the wall.

Funny, it looks more like the Democrats are all theater and no substance, since we're seeing Obama running around yelling that congress should: "Pass this Bill," yet the White House never sent over the bill to congress to even be look at let alone put up for a vote.

You want to tell me about theater, looks more like the Democrats seem to think that they are auditioning for a soap opera, and not being serious government officials. Now if Democrats really want to go into Hollywood they could always resign and go pursue their dreams of being in the movies.

All we need is the will to will away the Second Law of Thermodynamics, but that law is based on a very large set of those nasty things called facts, as distinct from a baseless opinion. And like Baby Bush's solution with the "Water Battery" (much later than Poppa Bush's praise of strategic "Fuzzy Logic" as forming the "End of History"), more energy goes in than will ever come out. The Great Sun will provide only minimal subsistence to only about 250,000,000 individuals, and the then 9,750,000,000 other individuals will have to learn that they should have bought more lucky lottery tickets, or maybe they will break off all the would be winners' arms off and beat them all unconcious with their own arms. 39 to 1 does sound like good odds portending victory for those desperate losers.

The USA will be an impoverished uneducated 3rd world backwater. There will be no WWIII to get us out of Great Depression II. The Chinese will own us and work us in sweat shops. But hey, at least I don't intend to produce offspring. You're the one with a grandchild. I feel awful. If God existed he would send a meteor to wipe us all out so that maybe next time a more intelligent and compassionate species will evolve from the remaining pond scum.

Most people that prepare for disaster and would stand any chance of surviving something on an apocalyptic scale would be conservatives.

And once such Conservative Values Rule for everyone, the fattened up conservatives will be a delicious feast for the nouveau conservatives. Does the last one remaining eat his own left arm or right arm first???

I must admit that Republicans have shown little intelligence and little wisdom. They have transformed work on a serious problem into a political pi**ing contest. The only Republicans showing any signs of sanity (Jon Huntsman, for example) is way down in the polls. Madness prevails.

But in the REAL world, the world of skilled workers, engineers, scientists, technicians, technically trained workers there are plenty. Our physical plant has not disappeared and there are sufficient numbers with the engineering and scientific know how to re-energize our economy. Even in our sad state, the U.S. leads the world in patents granted.

Is the last paragraph (about engineers, scientists, etc, re-energizing the economy, and the U.S. leading the world in patents granted), from any moderate degree of faith or belief in Ayn Rand's "Objectivism"?

In one of my longest waits to be heard by a federal judge over a Rehab discrimination lawsuit, a case with the most lawyers, the most arguments, and the greatest judicial concern, involved a patent/copyright dispute over the shape of a styrofoam packing peanut as having a legally protected shape/property/trademark. Patents seem to be near totally removed from the sciences' progressing. They seem to be more as technicality roadblocks to progress and competition, than any sign of things being positively "distinguished" in a beneficial manner for humanity.

I figured someone would point out that "The Divine Comedy" was written in early Italian instead of Latin, but it seems to be a great canonical near thread-killer.
