Unless I'm mistaken, the ball's in Cain's court to release the details of the settlement. The women, I believe, are not allowed to speak on the matter under directions of the settlement. They got their shut-up money and so they are expected to shut-up.

Cain doesn't have to say a word. All he has to do is point out this is the Clarence Thomas lynching redux.

Well, here is the final word from Fox News: http://nation.foxnews.com/herman-cain/2 ... ass-claims

Apparently, Uncle Rupert wants to keep this boy around a while longer.

Except that Thomas was never "lynched" (fyi, not a good choice of terminology there), and I'm on Anita's side.

It is the same sort of vilification as was tried against Clarence Thomas. Any conservative black man who looks like he will succeed in politics will be subject to the calumny. I regard this a a left-wing ploy to keep black folks down on the plantation. Maybe I'm wrong.

Really? I thought it was to tell them that they're only authentic to their race if they're democrat.

I'm at least happy that they haven't tried calling him a house servant. Then again, Al and Jesse have a good while to change that as well.

It's a perfect metaphor, as adopted by Thomas himself about his case:

Maybe they did leave that one out of their stereotype montage:

Let Harry Belafonte and his dual-toned voice give it to you straight. Geez, he sounds like a cartoon archvillain.

This is the sort of tinfoil hat nonsense I'd expect from some of the other posters here who fancy pulling out the race card. I hold you in higher regard. This has nothing to do with race. Were conservatives trying to keep down the Jews when they went after Weiner? Of course not. Are you really suggesting that the same people who "worship Prince Obama" have a higher goal of keeping the black man down? Ruveyn, please don't go down that road.

It's a terrible and disgraceful metaphor. I don't care if he said it first. It just further displays his insensitivity. He is a successful Supreme Court judge with a substantial net worth. I'd like to see him explain his "lynching" ordeal to someone who lost a loved one to a real lynching.

And, typically, the first thing a guilty party does is point fingers at the accusers.

As they say where there is smoke there is fire. We've pretty much established that these incidents happened with the two women and that these women were paid(apparently in the 5 figures range) to leave and shut up. It's not a "lynching" if it's true, it's pretty clear it is not made up.

Herman isn't getting prosecuted for what he did, he's running for president and this is relevant in the court of public opinion.

His candidacy was never real or based on any substance, purely a creation of the media. He is a stupid man.

Frankly it sounds pretty implausible that they would dredge up something that didn't prevent him from being installed in the first place in the belief that it constitutes high crimes and misdemeanors.

So, [Citation Needed]. Or stop bogarting whatever you are smoking. Sure we hate the guy, but mostly because he doesn't even put any spirit into being an offensively conservative justice - he just goes with the flow. What the hell good is he?

Anita Hill is a very small part of that litany.

And I'm not sure why we should believe it to be a liberal plot.

Hopefully he at least said something to let such things for these allegations to be worth his while and properly representative, otherwise psychic 'mind-read' sexual harassment counts as much as pet psychics bringing canines to the witness stand in court. On top of that he doesn't even get a high five from the players club for false accusations, really its the worst of all worlds.
