Without the troops there is no war. They ARE the war.

Troops are a tool which can be replaced by technology, much like many things these days.

You'd still need military personnel (ie troops) to program the drones.

Unmanned drones do exist. I addressed this a few pages back.

Never confuse the tools with the task. A pen is not journalism, nor is a hammer construction work. Thus a soldier is not war.

If no wars were declared by politicians, there would never be a need for soldiers.

In fact, a few years ago they had a remote controlled helicopter which could also use AI to fly itself. I'm sure that has some potential military uses too.

You'd still need people to build and fix the drones.

Technicians aren't troops.

Technicians can't fight, and aren't even trained to do so! :P

Technically no, but if they're building drones, in a way they are fighting.

In that case, people who manufacture cars cause car crashes.

False equivalence. Drones are specifically made to kill people. Cars are not designed for the purpose of crashing.

And along those lines, so are the people who make food.

No offense but they didn't fight for you - sadly America turned away the Jewish refugees escaping Germany. I have only slightly more respect for the Allies than I do for the Axis troops.

I hope those guys fought for themselves and their families. But I appreciated a good turn regardless of the motive. What those guys did benefited me, even if they had other reasons for fighting. I never hurts to say think you for a good turn.
