This is true. However, would you not consider that there may be a far higher scope for abuse in that sort of relationship? What if the subordinate is still dependent on the father in some way?

In a lot of cases though it can be debatable whether it is truly consensual. A father having sex with his daughter, for instance?

Now that's a good point. The father still has a position of power over the daughter. Not sure if that should be a crime, but I would say in the case of parents and children there's a good argument that it is unethical.

How would this be different from a girlfriend that lives with him and takes care of the house?

Also, I noticed a typo in my post.

Assuming she is of the legal *age* of consent.

So it would be alright for a father to have sex with his 16-year-old autistic daughter if she 'consented' to it and didn't have the presence of mind to say 'no'?

Sheesh...

Assuming she is capable of consent, I don't see why not.

My lord do I ever feel dirty right now. UGH.

So she wouldn't be rather dependent on him for her continued safety and security, even if she is capable of saying 'yes'/'no'?

You can see where I'm coming from. I think in those situations it's best just to make family incest illegal anyway. Go find someone else to bang.

In practice I agree. In theory I do not.

I have a headache now.

I think we understand each other. It would be nice if all consenting sexual behaviour could be legal but the world doesn't work like that. Soz granny.

Yeah, I think we do.

However, I am NEVER putting myself on that side of the debate again. UGH.

No the only difference is that eating their meat is unproductive and it's probably not that good.
Cows feed us with their milk, chickens with their eggs.. Yet we exploit every bit of s**t out of them...
Cats didn't befriend us. They were domesticated for pest control and god-like status.
It's all in our heads. Intelligence of a pig is that of a dog. Guess which tastes better?
Hypocrisy, hypocrisy. People kill cats and dogs all the time. It's only when someone says something on daytime telly its a bomb.
As said people who deny me my freedom of killing any animal I want should be punished!

We are talking about ethical animal handling but turn our blind eye to the meat industry.
It's completery arbitrary and made up for the sake of convenience.

I can't believe you guys are getting all worked up about killing animals for our consumption, when you have forgotten about the least thought about thing that is slaughtered daily for your stinking lives. And salads.

Won't you adopt a plant today?

You'll regret it later after your conscious proves how weak your mind is.

It's horrifying but true. Plants are treated horribly. I mean, at least we kill the animals before we eat them. Plants are uprooted alive and then cut up and cooked. They have no mouths with which to scream...

That's just so low.
What's the difference between a dog and a human? I see none. I say we eat all those who don't pass annual intelligence testing.
Some solution for overpopulation.

Maybe not uncivilized, but people are really attached to their pets, and I imagine they wouldn't do that to them. Rather, they would have them buried or cremated, as with a human relative.

I certainly would never do that to Josie (my dog) after she dies.
