no, clearly you do not understand what the purpose of life is.
you might need to pick up a Bible and start reading.

Cover-to-cover. I find your god, as depicted, to be vain, selfish, cruel, petty, and sadistic, and I find the historic actions of most of his worshipers to be similar (and their modern actions to be motivated by ethically irresponsible ignorance and hate).

Jesus was pretty cool. Shame his disciples (and resulting church) were/is filled with so many incompetent morons, but what're ya gonna do, right?

Funny you should mention that. I was raised a liberal secular athiest. I find liberals and athiests, as I experienced them, to be vain, selfish, cruel, petty, and sadistic, and I find the historic actions of most liberals and athiests to be similar (and their modern actions to be motivated by ethically irresponsible ignorance and hate). No he isn't.

3) You don't take into account the differences between ancient Hebrew and Modern English and the meanings lost thereof. I'm at a disadvantage becaue I can't get this computer to type the Hebrew/Caldean alphabet - and that's necessary to show you what has been lost in translation between the English and Hebrew languages and how they communicated.

I don't speak Hebrew, and would gladly defer to any of our Jewish members concerning the best translation and appropriate interpretation of the passage.

I'm going to address one point at a time. There's a lot here.

1st Point: The Bible warned us of this as a warning sign of the end times. In fact, Jesus, the prophet Daniel, and the Apostle John in Revelation all spoke of this. See Daniel 9, 11, 12, Matthew 24:4-31, Revelation 13....

Thou dost know the definition (and correct spelling) of the word avarice, dost thou not?

Definition of Avarice wrote:
(noun) excessive or insatiable desire for weath or gain

Conservatives regard avarice as a great virtue.

Where, in any of thy cited Biblical passages, doth it say anything about an excess of avarice being a warning sign of the end times?

Nope, the USA is still Number 1.

China is up to number 4, but still has a LONG way to go to catch up to the USA.

And, China will be giving Armageddon a pass.

Revelations 16:16 wrote:

China doesn't have a king. The Bible does not characterize Armageddon as "the perfect place for a battle", and doesn't even say that a battle will take place there--only that the spirits brought the kings together there. Not a whole lot of countries have kings any more.

Hilariously, I was raised semi-Christian (religion wasn't relevant to my family's life, but my parents are vaguely Christian). However, I'll toss this one out there: you find me someone killed in the name of Atheism and we'll talk.

Well, let's see, I know of a guy named Mao Tse Tung who killed off millions of Christians, and let's not forget Joe Stalin who killed off millions of Christians and Jews - 33 million to be precise, and let's not forget Hitler, who killed over 6 million people. Now, your point is?

None of those people killed anyone in the name of Atheism; Mao and Stalin did it for power, and Hitler did it because of racial eugenics (and DA CRAZY, of course). You won't find any atheists bombing churches, murdering abortion doctors, et cetera - but you will find Christians doing it in the name of Christ.

The only uneducated people I see are Lord Gareth and you. Jews were not the only religion persecuted by Hitler, as Lutheran Pastor Leon Bonhoeffer (Spelling?) and Hitler's private secretary, Gertrude Junge could both testify to. Junge herself stated that Hitler may have been raised Catholic, but was an ardent athiest and clearly intended that athiesn should be the only belief in the Third Reich. Bonhoeffer and many other pastors were victims of Hitler's concentration camps. Stalin was an ardent athiest - as were Lenin and Trotsky. All three stated very plainly in their various manifestos that religion of any kind had no place in the Communist State and that atheism was the only accepted "spiritual belief." Mao Tse Tung was even more fervent yet - or have you not read Mao's little red book?

That had actually been Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He had been hanged with piano wire for his part in the plot to kill Hitler. Another Lutheran minister who had survived internment in a camp was Martin Niemoller, who had headed up the Anti-Nazi break away Lutheran group called the Confessing Church.
And yes, I am very aware that Hitler was hardly a believer, and that his dream was to ultimately eradicate religion from Germany, and replace it with worship of the state, where he himself would be the messiah.
But in all fairness, the totalitarian leaders you had rattled off were not motivated by atheism, but by promulgating their own cult of personality. It was Narcissistic personality disorder multiplied by a thousand.

You are simply restating a controversial and not widely accepted internet meme spread by Christian conservatives. Jews were not the only persecuted ones though, that is correct

Atheism (learn to spell it, someday) is not a spiritual belief, Longshanks

You're right, most communists don't like religion and worked to stop its influence in society, often through violence. So therefore all atheists = communists? Your grasp of the history and politics of these nations is pre-undergraduate, which is why I will maintain you are a dishonest and uneducated theofascist who attempts to quash debate through weak appeals to authority and who's best comebacks all seem to amount to "No you are!"

You history dilettantes who like to try and paint atheism and communism together irrevocably seem to like to forget how much communism was supported by various church figures in South America
