What do MRAs have against France or the beach?

I choose not to waste my time reading Roosh's blog, or any MRA/femtard blogs either.

That being said, I do blame 2nd wave feminism for instilling american white women with a sense of entitlement. Ladies, you are "oppressed by the patriarchy", you are not a speshul snowflake, and the world don't owe you squat. Take some personal responsibility and stop blaming men everything. Men have no obligation to ensure that you're perfectly happy and content all the time.

Just so you're aware LKL: I am very much in favor of affirmative action. Especially given the fact that there are far too few affirmative action programs to help aspies get jobs. However, I favor affirmative action in terms of employment rather than in education. I wish the US had a university system like Finland where there is an entrance exam that EVERY applicant must take and score high enough in order to get in. There is also an analog of the american GRE which requires a minimum score for admission to graduate programs. It matters not what your background is there, no exceptions are made for anyone. That IMO is academia should work.

There are all these affirmative action programs for minorities in academia, but then when they get out they can't find work cuz often they've been studying too hard to get any kind of internships or job experience!

That is one of my biggest gripes though: Affirmative action for women exists and there are sooooo many opportunities for post gen-x women but there are NONE for aspies!

FWIW, a lot of universities now have affirmative action for men because women tend to do better on entrance exams and schoolwork, and they want a relatively gender-balanced student population. Are you in favor of gender-based affirmative action, in schools, when it specifically benefits men?
Wrt. programs for Aspies, I don't think that it's a good idea; we need to aim for programs where interpersonal interaction is not such a crucial aspect of the job, because we are legitimately less good at that than NTs. In programs where critical thinking is prized, we tend to do better than NTs already.

2nd wave feminism has proven to be very divisive when feminists try to recruit women from other minority groups in the sense that it turns those women against men in the same group. This seem to be especially true of aspies. Aspie women are brainwashed by feminists into accusing aspie men of "oppressing" them with "sexism/misogyny". *facepalm*

Again with the focus on 2nd wave.
Also, what Aspie women do you see as having been (subtext: naively/gullibly) "brainwashed" by feminists into "accusing aspie men of 'oppressing' them..."? I haven't seen much about oppression in this thread, especially coming from women.

My issue with feminism is how eager it is to dismiss anything that doesn't fit into its social constructivist paradigm. There's some entitlement issues and all, but that tends to vary while the social constructivist thing is the cornerstone of feminism. I think it's real corny to write off every difference between the sexes as socially constructed. It just reeks of political correctness. There's still plenty of controversy when it comes to nature and nurture, but I believe nature forms the basis for social construction. Social construction functions as an expression of nature, not for its own sake.

So I guess you've never heard of gender essentialist feminism? Curious, because they tend to be some of the ones most down on men.

That's because they feel threatened by men and wish to live separately in colonies that are exclusively for cis-gendered human females. They also try to encourage straight women to become homosexual so that they will not desire the company of men for their sexual needs.

And LKL, we aspies need jobs to support ourselves, damnit! There are only so many jobs that involve critical thinking. While many aspies aren't able to work in a group, interpersonal interaction is something that we aren't good at but can learn to do so long as there's mutual respect and understanding. That is why I think affirmative action programs for aspies in terms of employment is a great idea. In america today, <50% of women are unemployed whereas >>50% of aspies are unemployed(and not by choice!).

Most of them do, in my experience. I certainly do (in about the same numbers that I like women).

(1) if you are going to make stuff up why not make up happier stuff?
(2) it is not womyns fault you don't have a job. Dude it sucks even in the critical thinking jobs you still need social navigation skills. lord knows I have gotten myself into trouble.
It is like playing the slots you have no control of the odds just how many times you pull the lever. Hopefully unlike real slots I think the job game has better payout odds.

I don't support quotas for aspies in jobs that they're not suited to (for example: imagine a corporate PR man, or a salesperson, who was an aspie...!) any more than I support lowering physical requirements to allow women into jobs that they couldn't do otherwise. If they can do it under the current standards, fine! There's no reason not to let them! And mutual understanding and respect is a wonderful idea. But lowering standards will not help anyone.

Wrt. gender essentialist feminists trying to convince women to be gay: no, you're mixing them up with the radical feminists. Gender essentialists tend to want women to have lots of kids, and revel in mom-ness.
