Why random shooters kill...
Ideal BS...
Ideal situation would be to get rid of shooters and crime as such. Put your ass in the airplane and travel a bit. Get in touch with world where the crime is not a big issue and where hunting children is found in horror movies only, not evening news...
Raptor my man! Your nightmare is back

So still not enought weapons around US, right? Buy more! Give them to charity! Man, when do you realize there are two kinds of people - fighters and nonfighters. Why the f..k do you expect some young, tender arts teacher to stop a heavy armed, trained shooter on his suicide mission??? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

These poor beings go for hunt because we (society and parents) do not give a s**t about them. We betrayed them with our disinterest and cruelty. So yeah man, lets arm teachers, zhat's exactly what they are crying for

See? What does it matter if the teachers were armed? Do you get it?
PS: Is it possible to shoot someone without gun? Is it possible to blast school without bomb? NO. But it is possible to use knife! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... feman.html With much much subtle consequences... But who the f..k cares as long as Rapter can shoot his lovely guns

Nightmare? More like I'm a special ed teacher and you're a special ed student, Speds as they call them.
Well, you've resorted to what amounts to trolling so i'll reciprocate in a way you'll understand.

We send the young tender arts teacher to boot camp to stuff some guts into them so they'll man up some. The money we'll have to pay the armed forced for this training will be taken from social programs.

See? What does it matter if the teachers were armed? Do you get it?
I don't listen to active shooters. Their daddies should have used the belt on them so they'd grow up right.

Yes, it's all about Raptor's guns. You have me figured out and I just feel so horrible about myself.

There, that felt good.

making it mandatory that all teachers demonstrate martial abilities, is an obscenity- and the people who propose such, in the tart words of piers morgan, are "stupid" IMHO. one might as well brute-force shove a square peg through a round hole. there aren't enough qualified teachers as it is, and some people want to further restrict the profession only to those "man enough."
The important thing is to protect the sanctity of inanimate gun life from the mob violence that this incident will spark.
We cant allow something trivial- like humans getting slaughtered - to provoke a backlash that could take the lives of countless innocent guns- especially innocent automatic rifles. After all-automatic rifles not only dont kill people- they are vital to society- as overpriced doorstops, mantel pieces, and toys for the shooting range.
If you want a scapegoat then we should outlaw cars, gasoline, knives, fertilizer, axes, chainsaws, and other useless tools and supplies that society could easily do without , but that sometimes double as murder weapons.
We must protect our vital doorstops, and mantel pieces, and toys, from this gun-ocidal hysteria!
Because without doorstops- our whole society would collapse!

if they're so irrelevant then why must they be banned?
ideology...

Are we really going to start disqualifying teachers because of an excess of compassion that makes them unable to deliberately harm someone? Better to start having trained, psych-evaled guards around the school with access to a gun safe that only opens with a biometric scan, and which automatically sets off an alarm at the nearest police station when it's opened. That at least would still allow us to have teachers whose skills are in showing affection and patience with children (not that I actually think having tons more guns is a better idea - but, please, leave the kindergarten teachers out of it).

a program similar to air marshalls but in the schools, might be a good starting point. and security guards should not be uniformed in this case.
I think people are missing the point.
This was a random shooting, not a school shooting. There's no difference between what happened here and what happened in Colorado. You can put security guards in at school, but that's not going to do a whole lot in the grand scheme of things unless we all just decide to dig a hole and hide in it.
As much as I hate guns, it wasn't a gun issue either. I found it a little frightening how many people who I would otherwise consider very intelligent went straight to the gun issue and blaming the mom without even letting the thought enter the mind that maybe the blame should be placed squarely on the shooter.
We will find out when more details emerge.
Besides, we have veered a little from the original topic.

at this point, blaming the crazy person at the center of it, is like kicking a dead horse in the butt.

auntblabby - they are not crazy. Just frustrated... and armed. That's all. When common Joe anywhere around the globe gets so much frustrated he cannot take it anymore - well he cut's his wrists or jumps somewhere deep. But these guys (shooters) they want to make a difference. They want to change the status quo, change the "bad world". So they do. But I am not familiar with all of the cases, just the most known. There are shooter of course, who go hunting just for fun, to experiment, to kill for pleasure. But they are very rare.

you are correct, i should have used the term "crazily-behaving person."

LKL - why not? Whole world is thinking about it, discussing guns, psychology, society we live in. It is f*****g effective in fact. And sadly - the more dead bodies the bigger impact.
Anyway - did you ask them or read their words?
Harris&Klebold - Columbine http://acolumbinesite.com/quotes.html
Breivik - Utoya (Norway) unitednations.ispnw.org/archives/breivik-manifesto-2011.pdf
Many others http://www.schoolshooters.info/PL/Origi ... nts_files/
Internet is full of their thoughts... Pick some and we could discuss it.
auntblabby - depends how we define crazy behavior. Let's say we define it like "doing the same thing again and again but expecting different results" - then they are not crazy at all. We are crazy, because all we do is to wonder, talking s**t and do nothing

it takes a dysfunctional [better word than crazy] society to make dysfunctional people.
