Yes, I am probably being a bit over-dramatic and simplistic about the situation. The USA will be around in 2050 although I don't rule out a split up into 2 or 3 separate entities. That would take a major trouble, which I feel is a distinct possibility brought about by civil upheavals related to hyperinflation and collapse of federal governemnt.
I think that the USA has reached the zenith of its power and is on the decline. Much like the USSR, the USA will exist and be influential, but nowhere near what it was in the past.
Hey, I reckon Australia will be a vassal of New Zealand in the not too distant future
