While the US struggles with asymmetric warfare, it is light years ahead of the rest of the world as far as conventional power. Iraq had a battle tested million man army and was completely obliterated by US-led coalition forces in less than 3 weeks with minimal casualties.
Nobody comes close.
The point is China isn't Iraq, and they are nowhere near as far behind as you proclaim. They have a decent navy and increasingly are capable of holding ground in aerial combat. Also added to that they have a large nuclear arsenal to rival the USA and Russia.
