Yes, Obama is great...

Do you know that this administration has allowed for US citizens to be murdered without a trial, evidence or even an acusation by drones?

I'm not saying that republicans are better. They're not! They're absolute crap. But don't think Obama is that much better.

A few got killed. Considering that these guys are violent Jihadis who want to murder everyone from westerners, to Jews and Israelis, to Christians, to Muslims who don't see eye to eye with them, it's admittedly a little hard for me to work up much sympathy.

Habeas Corpus was originated in the 17th century. We're in the 21st. You agree with regressing 400 years in terms of legal rights for the sake of "national security"?

I said I didn't have much in the way of sympathy for these American Jihadis, I didn't say anything about getting rid of Habeas Corpus. If they can be captured, good deal - but if not, well, who am I to deny them their seventy two virgins?

I tend to think that the minute someone starts thinking about blowing people up, they throw their rights out the window. You see, Jihad is a war. The minute they become a Jihadi, they declare themselves an enemy combatant. I oppose Guantanamo and other secret prisons because prisoners of war must be treated with dignity if captured, and that's great if they are. But if they are killed in a war effort... small loss.

You know the Ocupy movement was treated operationaly as a terrorist organization, right? Do I need to say anything more?

As far as I know, drones don't possess the power of reading people's minds and detecting those who are jihadists.

Yeah, but to call the Occupy movement terrorists is just plain idiocy. I seriously don't think you can equate people fed up with the excesses of capitalism with violent religious fanatics.

I'm not the one equating them. Your authorities are. At least on some level. That's my point. The line that separates undiscriminate killings of alleged jihadists and undiscriminate killing of protesters is geting very thin.

I don't think anyone is seriously going to condone drone strikes on OWS, even the most hateful righties. President Obama certainly isn't going to start ordering strikes on them.

And what is the legal argument for that? None. It's all based on good will right now. Who knows what will happen in 10 years.
